The gospel of any contract is the specification clauses which tells the contractor or tradesman what material to use and up to which standard he must finish or do his job to.
Thus it should be taken in consideration at the very start to ensure that all materials are up to the following standard.
All materials are to be to British standard or better in their respective classes.
All materials are to be either Fireproof or else have capacity rating of at least 2 hours.
Material are to be of non toxic fume emission type.
Any PVC drian pipes leading from upper to lower levels are to have a intumisic collar at each floor level , this will stop the fire from spreading through the pipe.
Somthing else that would help would be a sprinkler system but I believe that haveing a real fire proof house would depend on the occupants as it is they who must be cautious regarding open flames and also keep electrical appliances well mantained .
One advice I could give is that you plan well ahaed regarding where you would have appliances which consume a lot of power for a long period of time ( heaters ) and have an electrical circuit for them only, this way you can have 15 amp wall sockets installed as 13 amp sometimes get really hot and can cause a fire.

Let's assume we are talking about a single family home, one or two stories.
Houses are not usually what first catch fire. With few exceptions, it is contents that start fire, and contents are what burns first.
By the time the construction materials are involved in the fire, occupants can already be incapacitated. Life safety in the home starts with preventing fires from starting. Complying with building and fire codes helps. Proper installation and maintenance of appliances do too.
If a fire starts, prompt detection (as by smoke detectors) and alarm are valuable. Fire sprinklers can control house fires long enough for occupants to evacuate.

sometimes its not even the materials, its the way the house is built. like not using a metal main beam. once metal gets hot enough it completely gives way. wood takes time to burn all the way through. and what about those firestops in the walls. the horizontal pieces of stud nailed between the main studs. they slow a fire from reaching the second floor in seconds to hours

human beings might desire to do a greater ideal job of brush clearance. It think to be 2 hundred ft all around. that's a touch demanding once you have pine timber leaning against your place. in all fairness. it quite is quite demanding to guard your place once you have some maniac putting fires on very windy days. you notice the cities are properly popular and persons went to those style of things to construct. The perspectives are large yet in addition they get travellers contained in this type of Bears and Mountain Lions. Plus in case you like Horses (and distinctive do) you will be able to desire to pass exterior the city limits through zoning rules.

Most house fire deaths occur because of toxic fumes (over come by smoke) that kill you very fast, or if you get out have long term health consequences. So to answer your question get rid of the carpet!
