Sounds to me like you are just in a hurry to grow up. Enjoy life now.

Well Alyssa, life can be a bummer at any age. Being 11 was a long time ago, but I remember some of it. I so looked forward to being 12 (when I could go hunting... thats another story), and when I was 12 I so looked forward to being 16, when I could drive. All that stopped when I turned 21.... nothing to look forward to until you hit 65 and could start drawing social security (and now it doesn't look like that will ever happen either).
Thats why we say enjoy being a kid. Because you have so much to look forward to. Its not always going to be fun being a kid, we know that too... but there are fun times. Sometimes when life is catching up to you, its a good thing to look back and see how far you've come. For you, looking back at being 3 should be about as easy as me looking back at being 11. How far have you come since then. Is life better now? Can you not do things now that you couldn't then? Isn't walking a lot easier? Throwing a ball? How good were you at 4 square when you were 3?
Life doesn't seem a bed of roses for you right now, but you've come a long way and you will have a lot of fun for a long time yet to come. Look forward to the future, enjoy the present (as best you can). And as Annie would say, "The sun'll come out..... Tomorrow".

hey
it gets way better, 17 is the best. its so exciting, all the new feelings towards the world, and all the things that you don't even know exist out there... there is so much to do, traveling, people, love, you can chose what you want to eat, you can get a dog if you feel like it, and if you work hard towards getting a good job then you will always have money to livein a nice place that you can decorate however you want, you can fall asleep whenever you want, sleep on the couch..
of course with all of this there comes new consequences..
if you stay up too late its ahrd to think the next day
if you don't put out the garbage or clean your room you'll get flies..
if youdrink too much alcohol you make dumb mistakes or throw up or get into fights.
if you smoke, you ruin your lungs and breathing.
but catching a plane and landing in a new city is so great,
meeting new friends,
exploring the world
oh and not to mention DRIVING.. which is great, you go and come as you please..
all of this to look forward to, but all in good time..
cos there is good things about being a kid even though its frustrating, there is a lot less to think about, and a lot more free time when you are kid,.
there is nothing you can do to change the space of a year or two.. or six. can;t make the world spin faster.
just find all the good things you love and be good to other people

I'm curious to know why you don't enjoy your life at 11?
What is wrong? Maybe if you tell us what's wrong we could give you some pointers on how you could enjoy being 11?
Being 11 wasn't so great for me either, I spend 6 months laying down with Hepatitis. And had to repeat a grade :). Since I pretty much missed the whole year of school, and changing grades meant, new classmates, worse I changed schools also so even old friends weren't around.
So I can understand that even an 11 year old can have a bad year :).
Best wishes and hope things go up for you

No, it does get better. I didn't really enjoy being a kid, but life did get better as I got older. But don't be in a hurry to grow up, you might not enjoy being a kid, but growing up too fast is even worse. Relax and just take everything day by day--before you know it, years will have passed and you'll wonder why you thought everything was so horrible when you were 11.

you have no idea. Imagine having to work under a mean boss for 8 hours a day, and only making a small amount of money, then comming home to kids who think that what you do is worthless and that you don't do anything all day. And then imagine that all the money you made went to pay bills and the clothes that your daughter wants are at least $100 and you only have $75 but somewhow you figure out a way to get it for her, and well lets just say, being a kid can be tough, but it only gets tougher unless you enjoy your kid days. Have fun while you can. because soon you will have responsability that you have to take care of.

There are many reasons today for children not enjoying their childhoods. One is divorce and all that entails. You could have very good reasons for not enjoying your childhood like having been abused in some way or a very dysfuncional family or ????????????? It might be able to help with your current unhappiness. Have you sought out help ? school counselor, great adult friend who loves you, grandma, church groups, ??????

Well, it's all about how you look at life.
If you just sit there going, "oh, my life is hell. Whatever. I hate it." then eventually your life will become hell. Now, I'm twelve, nearly thirteen, and I can telly you that that is NOT how the average kid should live their life at all.
