Oh I know EXACTLY what you mean!!!!
I have those too, usually on my 3rd and 4th fingernails on my left hand. I was wondering why they were there, but now I know that those are the fingers I use the least (I'm right handed). The cure is to exercise those fingers more. If you play the piano or do a lot of typing those are good exercises. Good luck :)

Those are calcium deposits. See your fingernails, like your hair are pretty much your bodies waste. Calcium deposits form in many different parts of the body. This is not caused by drinking or actually taking in calcium though. But that is just one of your bodies ways of getting rid of it...

The half moons at the bottom are unharded nail, sometimes you may have hit the nails, but they are most likely calcium deposits, much like the ones people get on their teeth sometimes.

Don't worry!
I have them to !
It just means that you need more calcium. Try some once a day tablets. It goes away after a while!

I used to get them too. I was told it was a calcium deposite, or something simular. It is nothing to worry about. You can get rid of them by watching your diet, and eating propperly.
