Do Cops With A Higher Education Perform better than cops with little or no education?

No. It all depends on people skills. At some point, they all learn the laws and standard operating procedures. But if they can't deal with the public, no amount of education is going to make a difference.

Not necessarily. Im a cop with a 2:1 hons degree. Some colleagues with academic achievements are asses some arent. Same goes with cops with lesser academic achievements. It just depends on the person.

What I will say is no amount of academic qualifications will make someone a good cop. But if you are an "achiever" then I think that means you have extra personal qualities and characteristics than mean that you will excell at whatever you choose to do - including police work.

It really comes down to how an individual applies themselves to their own lives and circumstances. Why do you ask? Are you thinking of becoming a cop?

my research on this has led me to belive that a higher educated police officer ( college ) is more disiplined and less of a problem within the department. besides knowing the law and doing the accually day to day activites, I would say no.

Not necessarily. Answer this yourself if someone had a degree in music would they necessarily be better as an officer versus someone who went into the military with a high school diploma?

Criminology study is mandatory for police officers.
For investigators higher academic study is very helpful too.
