to support their claim that evolution is false?

My proof of the big bang comes form the fact that cosmic background radiation is a real and measurable thing.

If you want to "see" the beginning of the universe, tune your TV to a channel with static.

Suzanne, nice try, but no cigar
1. The fossil record is very complete, especially for early Homo speicies. "missing link" is a creationist strawman.
2. Evolution does not attempt to predict how the first life started.
3. Given a couple of billion years we most likely can.
4. The mechanism used in evolution is not random, it is natural selection.
5. you don't know what the definition of a theory is.

Again...siting christian psuedo-science is not evidence.

Behe, and the rest of the "scientist" for the Discovery Institute have been debunked long ago. Having a handful of scientist using junk science is not a rational argument.
Darwins black box is a joke.

While one definition of theory in the dictionary is "a guess". That is NOT the definition of a "scientific theory" Typical christians only reading the parts they want to.

Here it is again.

1. Micro evolution and the fossil records are facts.
2. The evidence for Macro evolution does not exist: transitional forms, and how natural selection from nearly no information, creates utterly complex and brilliant information, new life forms, species, functions.
3. How did natural selection begin? A lot of complex biology had to be in place first, at least up to and including an RNA replicator. How did the RNA replicator know what to replicate?

An example: How did the brain get programmed for eyesight. To accept 2 images, combine them, to provide near instant assessment and response, millions of lines of unbelievably brilliant genetic code, how did that happen. We could put 1000’s of genius's to work on this today for 10 years, and they would not be able to figure out how to do that today. Not only is there no randomness, there is unimaginably brilliant creation involved.

Seriously, when these questions are answered, then I will be a materialist. Until then, there is room for a creator.

By the way, this world reknown atheist, is now a theist, because the facts of science led him to this. This is an interview.

The reason why is that science and religion are based upon two different ways of thinking.

Science gives you a foundation of knowledge and then, just as importantly, a process by which new information, especially conflicting information, can be assimilated into that body of knowledge with no inconsistency. We call this process the scientific method.

Religion on the other hand gives you a foundation of knowledge, and then expects a blind belief in that body of knowledge, despite (and especially despite) any information to the contrary. This is called faith.

So when you give a scientific question to the religious community, they have 2 choices for their response: They either

a) deny what you are asking is possible ("evolution is just a theory, its not real", etc...) or

b) explain it in terms of how their religious beliefs explain things to them (creationism, god just put everything here, etc.)

(Well, I guess they have a third option too, but that would be denying all their beliefs and answering in a logical fashion that takes into account the world around them.)

So yes, when you ask them for evidence, they respond in the only way they know how, with their faith.

Hope that helps some...

Why is it that evolutionists still cannot find the missing link? Even scientists base their beliefs on their faith in applied theories. When they can isolate the missing link within our own DNA it's still questionable. What evidence do they have that explains this jump in our supposed evolution? How is it that the missing link has disappeared from our own DNA? Maybe we didn't originate from here and evolution itself is a Divine illusion. The truth is out there or hidden within our own religious texts. We might be the offspring of another distant world.Religion might just be based on keeping the actual truth from us until we are ready to accept it or uncover it's hidden secrets.

I think a lot of people are drawn to religion because they need something to believe in, to help them feel stronger and safer. It's really hard to believe in only part of a religion and still feel that confident about the rest. It can be too scary. I lost my faith after a whole lifetime of questioning, scientific inquiry and logic. It was incredibly painful and scary and sad. It was like losing my parents and finding out that Santa Clause doesn't exist all at once. I feel like it was the best next step for me, but frankly, I wouldn't wish that on anyone else. That doesn't mean that there's no divinity or beauty in the world, just that it doesn't seem to be in the form I was brought up to see it as. There is still plenty of mystery and humility to experience without religion. Now I see natural divinity and beauty in everything and everyone. Everything is awe inspiring to me now. And I like that better. But that doesn't work for everyone.

Why are so interested in taking people's beliefs away from them?

And they have actually. They bring up the fossil record. They see a natural progression of animals from simple to more complex. They think that is an intelligent design and not evolution.

Because they don't need to. According to them, everything was created and designed by a higher power. If you believe something that has no evidence to begin with, you don't need to come up with evidence to support your ideas. If they're belief is correct, then evolution must be wrong. That's about the best explanation I can give you...

EDIT:
To the guy below me:
Gravity is a theory too. That doesn't make it wrong.

Why is it that unbelievers who doubt creationism can't come up with even one piece of evidence that conclusively proves evolution is true? I mean, look at the holes in the fabric they've woven:

1) where is this so-called "missing link," anyway?
2) why can't they prove the first form of life was spontaneously created with no assistance?
3) why can't they even create new living organisms in a lab that recreates the presumed conditions on the earth?
4) why can't most of them understand the difference between evolution and selective breeding?
5) why can't they understand that evolution is still labled a "theory" because it's not sufficiently proven to be called a fact?

The fact is, there's less evidence to back up evolution than you think. Do a little research some time and you'll see this.

Peace.

faith means u believe in something that cannot be proved
PROVE there is no god, not by saying cuz we cant see god. a thousand years ago we couldnt see bacteria and germs.

doesnt atheism require more faith then religions?

if u look at a complicated skyscraper, or a computer, would u say it was smashed up randomly together? u would say there was hard work and an excellent designer behind it, wouldnt u?

look at us. Look at our funtions. our different organs, our brain, our ability to reproduce. That beats all or our machines doesnt it? why would u say we were randomly mitch-matched smashed together?
shouldnt there be an excellent designer and hard work behind us?

God vs. Science

God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him, "Lord, we don't need You anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the beginning."

"Oh, is that so? Tell me," replies God.

"Well," says the scientist, "We can take dirt and form it into the Likeness of You and breathe life into it, thus creating man."

"Well, that's interesting. Show me."

So the scientist bends down to the Earth and starts to mold the soil.

"Oh no, no, no," interrupts God. "Get your own dirt!"
