Hi, I'm pro-life but I can understand your point.
I believe that abortion should be allowed in at least one case, and that is when the child is causing harm to the mother. If the pregnancy could cause the death of the mother, then the baby should be aborted. I just think that in this case, precedence should be given to the life that is already established instead of the one that is causing a threat - even though the baby does not intend to do so.
In the case of rape, that's a tough issue. I can definitely see why one would not want to have the baby that was a product of rape. There is a risk that the mother would have ill feelings toward that baby. Can you imagine if the baby had the features of the rapist? It would be a constant reminder to that poor mother.
But I really admire those women who choose not to abort in the case of rape. They recognize that it is not the fault of the child, and that the child has worth, even though conceived in this way.
But on the other hand, I can understand someone not having the strength to go through with a pregnancy that was the result of rape.
If it ever happened to me, God Forbid - I think I would just pray very hard about what to do.

You can't force someone to do something that they don't want to, but can you seriously condone murder?
I once used the question;
If my mom gives me a puppy, and I have to take care of it and everything. Is it okay for me to just kill the puppy cause I don't want it? Or is it better that I give the puppy up for puppy adoption?
I know that puppies and babies arent the same thing. And most definantly being pregnant and having a puppy are no where close to each other. My point is that more people get upset over me saying that I am going to off a dog than with the idea that I am going to off an unborn baby.
But still people can't stop others from getting an abortion, although it would be a good thing if people chose to believe that life is more important.
But then again I am not answering your question am I? Here goes;
The reason that children homes and the like are so poor is because the funds for them are so short and many times they are forced to make due with whatever comes up. Sadly most people dont see the point in having good social services for children(or in many cases adults). This could be solved if politicians stopped worrying about how popular they are or how much money they are going to make and start dealing with helping the helpless.
And as for a more personal level, I think that those who are pro life should seriously adopt at least one unwanted child and make it wanted.
But as for your grey areas those are totally off base.

As a Mormon I believe that abortion is a sin against life, but there are mitigating circumstances, and it would be up to the mother if it were a case of rape, incest, or if the mother's life were in danger. It is still a matter of prayer and counseling in those cases as well. If I had the money I would adopt some children, but I'm not married and don't have the means. I think adoption procedures should be reformed to be a bit easier, with more training for prospective parents, and less cost-prohibitive. There should also be a return to teaching the blessings of the law of chastity. Most people don't even know such a law exists.

pretty tipical poor strategy. Had we taken care of the accidently preganat in the first place instead of marking them as bad people we never would have had the easy abortion problem we have now.
The commandment not to kill actually properly translated says do not take innocent life swiftly. So to find out one is pregnant an dskip down to the free clinic and remove the baby after it has been 18 days from conception is definately wrong, but instances such as you describ are not the taking of innocent life swiftly.
I can not define what point moving swiftly becomes giving adequate thought but to call the situation you described as a contradiction to the comandment would be wrong
Remember this people kill the messenger and the translators knew that so in their best interest they said just anu old murder was wrong when in fact as everyone knows some people make the lives of others so difficult that there comes a point where termination becomes an option. People who get so good at accumulating and refuse to share may fall into the its OK to terminate population.

an end to legal abortion in america would put over 4000 people into foster care every day.
the foster system is already severly overcrowded and underfunded. many kids are simply kept in the system untill they
are 18 and then thrown out on the street with no real job skills no real education and no real chance at life. most people want to adopt an infant. this gives a baby about 1 and a half years to get adopted. and the process takes damn near that long.
i am a pro choice pro lifer. myself i think that abortion is a horrible thing, and i would hope that most would see my point of view on this. but i realise that it is a legal medical prociedure and anyone has the RIGHT to choose for themselves.
besides as a man who the hell am i to tell a woman anything about pregenancy. it is not my body, and unless the kid is mine it is not any of my business. even if it is it is still her choice.
and as an Ordained Minister (celtic pagan) it isn ot my right to make my beliefs law. everyone has the right to choose their religious beliefs. some would put their beliefs into law, this is wrong on so many levels that it is not funny.

Nobody but God can make the kind of judgments you propose to make.
You're way out of your depth.
The right to life is absolutely fundamental to humanity, it comes from God, and no one has the right to end a human life other than God, who gave it.
The sooner you accept the fact, the sooner we can all get busy defending the pre-born and saving our country and the world from the abomination, which is abortion.

While abortion is a sad option, an aborted baby is better than a person "given a chance for life" that is beaten daily, and goes on to shoot schools.
Also, the government has no right to regulate morality. The church does NOT belong in the government--just as the government belongs is no church!

I would not have an abortion myself, but I would never ask anyone to be forced to carry a child they did not want. This is torture for both mother and infant. I can not wait to see what people have to say about this....Great question!

Why abort a child who did ntohing wrong? What crime did the fetus commit that caused it to receive the death penalty?
The child is not the rapist, don't confuse the two. A child is a gift from God.

I disagree
Whether a baby grows up to become jaded or not
you will never know until the child is GIVEN a chance at life just like YOU
where do people get off with this issue, I guess they can because their Mothers gave them a chance at LIFE
