The problem with this plan is that if that had been the case since day one of this country you and I both wouldn't have been here.

What is wrong with legal aliens? People come here because they want a better life for themselves and their families. They can not help the fact they were born in another country. Illegal aliens should be shipped out. If they want to be here they should go through the necessary steps to become legal, law abiding, working citizens.

Excellent idea - time to get rid of Arnold Schwarzernegger, Keanu Reeves, Natalie Portman, Kiefer Sutherland, Michael J Fox, Pamela Anderson, Russell Crowe, Isabella Rossellini, Nastasia Kinski, Jean-Claude van Damme, Joan Collins,
Peirce Brosnan, Antonia Banderas, Salma Hayek, and so on and so forth. Have I made my point?

Hollywood would crash and so would the American economy. Bush is already doing a good job of bleeding the country dry.

The original post said legal AND illegal. It specified everyone NOT born in the USA.

Isn't it about time you people focused on something more important ... there are more serious issues in the world other than which nationality you are and whether or not you are infact 'legal'. Many of the people in the street have been given a chance to improve their lives and do not accept it or refuse to stop takin drugs, so why should we not let these willing people into the country?? Why is it so bad people would wish to stay here, is it not infact a complement? The country is too full.... as long as houses are being built and there are jobs .... the country will NEVER BE FULL. All those racist should rethink and hopefully are not allowed to vote other wise BNP will be our next government .... they will do a worse job than any government could ever do!

As a child of immigrants (both parents), I feel a need to say something. My father was a renowned consulting engineer for General Electrics. He was sought after and consulted for Raytheon and many other places. In the 60s and 70s, whenever there were problems with spacecrafts (Remember Apollo 11?),. he made emergency trips to Florida or Houston to help the ships land safely.

My mother, an immigrant from a family of illegal immigrants developed the quick streptococcus test. That's the one that you get now, routinely when you think you might have strep. Prior to that, many kids and teens were dying from undiagnosed strep but due to this one immigrant's research, you can now know in a matter of hours if you have Strep. As well, she pioneered many of the medical fixes and vaccines that we have for many illnesses. Her research in medical pediatric infectious disease saved thousands upon thousands of people. My brother is a world-renowned surgeon. Born on this soil, he is sought after around the globe and works at one of the most prestigious Medical schools / hospitals in the U.S.

I have a sister that is a primary care physician, providing quality care to many, many patients. She is a caring and qualified doctor. In our family, we have musicians, engineers, writers (NY Times Best Seller), interior designers and teachers of high school English - yes - a daughter of an immigrant taught hundreds of high school students English Lit. in a NY City public High school, as did her sister.

At one time or other, unless you are native American, your ancestors came to this land from another place. Why not kick everyone off except those of Native American Ancestry? Oh - guess that means that the Mexicans should stay, since they were originally after all, from this continent unlike those who came from Europe.

Point is - you would be lost without us!

At the end of the day, if you trace right back to our roots quite a few of us would be shipped out of here.

I do think that immigration rules need to be tighter as to who gets let "in".

If the government really wants to help out people in other countries they should give everything to them that is given to charities instead of pocketing half the money and wasting even more money by using warehouses to stock clothes, toys beds etc.

um hello! anyone and everyone who lives in america (except native americans) are immigrants! you think you're so special because you're family came over on the mayflower or whenever! you're ancestors took the land and meat and lives of the native americans! the spanish came to mexico and did the same thing to the indigenous mexicans! The irish came to america and took jobs that no one else was willing to do for such low pay, people grumbled and got mad, but they are now accepted in society! just because there are people willing to work harder than you are, and look a little different than you, doesn't mean they should be sent away. If that is the case, then every non-native american needs to go back to where ever he came from!

Sure... but where should we sent you (if this applies) ?

This will leave only Mexicans and Indians here...

Well, it seems we are gonna have alot of extra room around here...
so, we will let some of you back in...

but the racists, the greedy, the dissillusioned, and the corrupt will have to find some other country to accept them (good luck!)...

Actually... I would like to thank you for sponsoring the idea, and to show our appreciation, regardless of where your ancestors came from... you yourself can stay!
(but we are gonna keep an eye on you... you understand.)

I agree with you 100%. We should all go to our local cemeteries and dig up the bones of YOUR ancestors and ship them back wherever the hell they came from. I think there is a list of mostly European immigrants who came to this country at the Ellis Island museum. That's a good place to start.

I have no problem with legal immigration. I have a problem with illegal immigration. I have a problem with the children, born in the USA, of illegal immigrants being granted citizenship by virtue of birth. That loophole in the constitutional amendments needs to be plugged! I also have a problem with you anti-legal immigration view.

Yes definietly taking our jobs and homes while our people have to suffer. I also think we should help our own before helping other countries (eg, Africa with their faming, starvage). There are too many people in the UK suffering with homelessness and poverty yet the bloody government and charities keep helping other countries before our own population are dealt with.
