Traditionally, boys were expected to experience everything and had quite a bit of freedom.
Girls, on the other hand, were expected to learn how to do household chores and were protected from harm by being kept at home.
It sounds like your mom is repeating those traditions. You might want to bring that to her attention. Let her know that girls can do all the things that boys do and you should be able to do them. Let her know that she is slowing your growth by preventing you from experiencing life.

because your a girl moms feel like boys don't have anything to lose.our idea of going out and having a good time is different in their minds some moms feel like their daughters might go out and get knocked up(pregnant) ,get raped, get killed or do something stupid like we can't defend ourselves. I know my mom would not let me hang out past 1:00am for my 12th grade prom she still looks over my shoulder for me and i am 25 yrs old and happily married.

A lot depends on your ages. Who is older? Parents are also more protective of their girls than their boys. They think that boys can take care of themselves, but girls don't have the ability to fight back if they are in a bad situation.

WELL HOW OLD ARE YOU AND HE? SECOND PARENTS SEEM TO WATCH OVER GIRLS MORE THAN BOYS CUZ GIRLS ARE MORE VULNERABLE THAN BOYS.
