What does it mean? I've heard people talking about eating Kosher and I know it has something to do with the Hebrew religion but that's all I do know. I don't understand the rest of it? Do you?
If a food is Kosher, is it the brand name or a type of diet?

kosher means 'fit' in the jewish religion and means fit for consumption. The laws of kashrut in judaism are statutes, as there are no good reasons for keeping them other than to prove ones faith.
For an animal to be kosher it must have split hooves and chew the cud. These animals have to be killed in a special way too.
For a fish to be kosher it must have fins and scales.
The word kosher is sometimes used in the business world to mean legitimate eg. are those goods kosher.

'Kosher' refers to the way the food is prepared. The animals used in the cooking even have to be killed in a certain way.

I always thought it meant something was prepared in a certain
way. But I heard it means the food was blessed by a Rabbi.
Can't say for sure.
