Ok, you didn't ask. but it will probably be CHEAPER if you buy your boyfriend a phone card. These are almost always useable in jail, cost about 1/10 a collect call, and you can always send him another when you run out of minutes.
Good luck.

any landline company (not VoIP, or cellular, but POTS) will be able to accept calls from correctional facilities... you will have to call your local telephone provider to set this up though, as it is normally blocked automatically, and may require pre-payment for accepting these calls.. I am a field tech, so I am not up to the minute with this type of question, but last time I had a conversation in the office about this, MCI was the only provider, and a pre-paid account needed to be set up with them... lots of immature answers on here - I hope that none of them, or there relatives/friends end up on the wrong side of the law...

make sure you have long distance service, collect is the same thing. Either way, you are paying the bill!
FYI ~you just might benefit from finding out what the jail charges, example: like $2.00 just for connection, then perhaps add an additional charge by the minute.

Phones automatically recieve and accept collect calls unless that option has been turned off on their phone specifically by the owner of that phone plan.
Call your phone company and ask them to remove this option so that you can recieve your calls.

Jackie - are you even old enough to have a phone in your name? Cuz if you were, you would know all you have to do is call the phone company. IF you even need to do that!
Im with the other guy, get a new bf.

The heck with the phone. Just get a new boyfriend....one that is NOT incarcerated and you won't have to worry about it. Besides why should you pay the big bucks to talk to him when he is sitting behind the walls?

You have to call your local telephone provider and tell them you would like to be able to accept collect telephone calls.

If your boyfriend is in jail it's a good bet that he's not worth the price of a collect call. Get a new boyfriend.
