Perhaps my answer to you would remove the skepticism that you have with regard to your doubts about the authenticity of the Bible. Yes, your query with regard to having some one writing the New Testament to confirm the predictions of the Old Testament which you called the previous book is a rational question and may come across every thinking man. However, when most of the prophecies that the Old book, or the Old testament, haven't been fulfilled yet and believers of the Good book which is the Bible in its totality, still expect the fulfillment of most of the Old Testament heretofore, then having a person writing the book in its current form and referring to incidents similar to those in the Old book must be the same entity itself - The Holy Spirit who is the Author of Both testaments. There are more prophecies that have not come to pass than those that have been realized by the coming of the Man who fulfilled the Laws and the Prophets, namely the Son of Man Jesus Christ, because He came as a Man, and the Son of God, because He has a divine nature. When this situation is present in the Old Testament and the New Testament conclusively, then to have a man write the New Testament showing prophecies not having fulfilled yet must be A prophet of God himself. Which is the situation that exists within our hand. All those men who wrote the New testament are all disciples of the Christ and have preached the Gospel starting from the creation of Man until the second coming of the Christ which hasn't come to pass yet. The New Testament itself is like the Old Testament. They both talk about the coming of the Christ to rule and judge the world. The Old and the New Testament weaved together such that the Old Testament is truly found in the New Testament in every verse you read. If your query is true, then you have to admit that the men who wrote the New Testament must be men of God themselves. It is therefore impossible to have a man writing the New Testament in the manner you described unless he himself is a man of God.

You assume that the gospels fulfilled ALL OT prophecy. There are many prophesies that await fulfillment. Based on current world events, most folks believe the next prophesies to be fulfilled are Ezekiel 38 and 39. These prophesies tell us that, in the end times, Russia, Iran, Syria, Libya, Egypt and other Muslim nations will attack and invade Israel. Look through history and you will see there has NEVER been a time that Russia and Iran have been allied.
You're also ignoring the fact that the Bible tells us Israel will be reborn as a nation in the end times, and the Jews will be regathered. The entire world will be against it, and nations that surround it will want to steal Israel's land. This prophecy was written before Jesus, yet after the second diaspora in AD 70, many gave up on seeing the fulfullment of these prophesies. Yet, Israel was reborn in May, 1948. Last year, Israel announced that, for the first time in almost 2,000 years, there are more Jews living there than in any other place in the world. Even a skeptic cannot dismiss these things as coincidence.
Peace.

The new testament was already written long before the prophecy;s that God put in it, only today are now coming to pass. Only God can predect what nature is going to do, like the tsunami, which is an under sea earthquake. And the wars that we are now in, and other things yet to come that is in no way in the control of mortal man, but of God Himself.
Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mark 13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
Our weather is more and more unpredictable that it has ever been before. Man has no control over that. But God does.

Maybe.
Would it be within the power of any mortal to wrtie a book that changes the lives of millions of people over the course of history, completely redefines society as a whole, and withstands 2000 years and hundreds of translations to be one of the single most revered books we have today?
Doubt it.
