89 ford ranger 4 cylnder, no oil pressure and a really loud ticking coming from the engine where you put the oil in...whats up with it?thanks.

sounds like your oil pump went out!! And you may have blown your engine.Take off a rocker arm cover /valve cover and see if it,s pumping oil up to the top of the engine..if it isn,t its most likely out..

sounds like the oil pump quit working and the noise is the lifter running dry check to make sure ther is oil in the motor

sounds like the oil pump is out and your not getting any oil to the engines valves.

The oil pump screen is blocked.

ummmm check the oil pump to make sure it still has oil, if not well there ya go thats ur problem

Sounds to me, and this is common to a Ford truck, you lifters are sticking.....
