Should I just automatically pay for them both, pay only for mine and she can pay for hers, let her pay for both (I don't think so!).
What's the right thing to do here? Little things like this do matter because they are a bit awkward.

Go ahead and try paying for both.

If she beleives strongly in paying for herself, she will say so.
Then simply acknowledge and let her pay.
The main thing is to take her reaction in stride..
..In any situation.

You want to woo her a little, so pay for the drinks. It's not a lot of money. If you decide she's not your cup of latte, at least you leave her with a good impression of your gentlemanly behavior, and you feel better about yourself, even though it may not have worked out in the end. Let's say it doesn't work out, but she's thinks so much of you otherwise that she tells her friend about you, and that friend could be the romance you're looking for.

Most times the men will want to pay for both, and I always ask if I should pay for mine, I don't just sit there waiting for him to automatically pay for my drink.

the question is whether you want a second date ? If you do then pay for both coffees, unless she insists more than once. You can always say 'no worries, Ill get them this time. You can get the next ones'.

You PAY! serious, that is the very proper way. And if you want to keep seeing her, get used to paying. Since it's a first date one flower (NOT a rose) from the florist would be entirely appropriate if you want to make a splash! Have fun good luck!

Unless yur one of those cheap skate persons.
I really dont care what others consider right or wrong.
If a man has enough guts to take a lady out on a date and wants drink or feed, He should have enough guts to pay..
I am a male and I think women need to be pampered...
when dating my wife I always paid. sorry if anyone disagrees, that is my OWN PERSONAL FEELINGS ...

Yes, you pay. Good grief, you don't want to pay for a cup of coffee? What girl would want to be around you?

Whoever does the inviting, pays.
