I have been looking after him for the last week and a half and my aunt will be back from holiday in 3 days time. I had a vindaloo curry last night and fed the cat the leftovers. He has had the runs all day. I tried to clean his rear end up but smeared it all over his back end. So I then tried trimming back the affected fur and to cut a long story short I ended up shaving off the matted up fur. He now looks like a badly trimmed poodle. My aunty loves sampson to bits and treats him like the child she never had. What should I do?? Any advice on this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Use my favourite sticky type stuff - velcro. Velcro some fake fur onto the rear end of Samson. You will need to staple one side of the velcro to the cat but it will be a fleeting pain. Staple the other side of the velcro to the fake fur and whack it on the cat. Your aunt will never know the difference...

Ha ha ha ha - sorry, i don't mean to make fun of you, but you sound like the brat in "Home Alone." Really mate, just tell your auntie the truth. The cat is NOT harmed - just looks funny right now. But the hair will grow back quickly. I LOVE my Kaffe and if my nephew "accidently" shved him; I would be more concerned weather Kaffe was harmed at all - I won't fret about shaved fur becuase that grows back.

How does the His Furriness (the Persian) feel about you now?

OK Dehlia, convince me how you got the cat to eat the curry. Cats don't like spicy food. To keep cats out of stuff, one thing you are supposed to do is use Tabasco or red pepper sauce.

On the very off chance this is true, go to the groomers and get him a full lion cut. I like the "punk" version, with the Mohawk down the back.
No cat I've every owned would stand still for a minute of this people foolishness.

Take him to a groomer asap. The groomer will help even out the cats hair and make him look halfway presentable until the rest grows back. LOL, my parents persian got fleas so they shaved her down to the skin except for her head and tail, she looked so funny! I can imagine what your's probably looks like, and yes, all the hair grew back but it takes a few months to look normal again.

take your aunties cat,
to the nearest good '' cat grooming parlour ''
explain your problem ,

they will cut that Kittie's fur evenly
and shampoo her ,
so she will look more presentable,
when Auntie gets home

Aunty will not be amused ,
but will understand, if you tell her honestly what has happened
I am sure he will recover, once Auntie takes him in hand again .

and her Persian cats lovely coat ,will grow back to normal in a few weeks ;

MORAL!
never feed to a Persian cat vindaloo . !!!!!!

My cat in a hat is still laughing at a Persian moggy stupid enough to eat vindaloo leftovers.

How can you ACCIDENTALLY shave a Persian cat ??? All you can do is explain to your aunt when she gets back and buy ear defenders for the screech. Women are VERY protective over their pusses - she wont be asking you to cat sit again in a hurry xxx

well you should just tell the truth and let her know it was for his own good, you may want to buy him a little sweater he may be chilly now without his fur--you will want to do this before she gets home, don't worry though hair grows back and it will be fine. She will only be mad for short term if she is even mad at all she might find the situation humorous. Offer to take him to the groomer to have it smoothed if she seems upset about his look. Good luck and the truth shall set you free!
