It depends on the dentist and the type of guard that you get. Some insurance policies will allow you to claim the expense.

My dental insurance paid for mine. If you don't have insurance, there are over the counter mouth guards - plastic molds that fit over your teeth that look a lot like what my dentist gave me. The guards are a thin plastic but can work wonders. I think they cost about forty dollars.

Also - if you can - get out of the stressful situation that is making you grind your teeth at night. If you don't wake up with a headache and sore teeth, then you've found your remedy.

I'm not sure how much the over-the-counter ones they have out now are, but I got one custom made from the dentist about 3 years ago for about $150. I would not waste the money again. It is really uncomfortable, but I can manage to keep it in until I fall asleep. Once asleep, however, there is nothing to keep me from spitting it out. It was not helpful in the least. Maybe there have been some improvements to keep the thing in at night. Check before you buy.

I'm not sure but I need one of those too. That's what my dentist said like a year ago. Wow. I still didn't get one.

Most insurance will cover it since it is detrimental to your teeth and overall health of your mouth.

I think I answered your other question lol. Idk but there are some at the CVS or WALGREENS stores. I don't think they are too expensive.
