I think you should ask the right people...its too important to not know the correct answer.

I think its a great idea....having a captain do it, if it is true!

If he is a licensed NOTARY, like I am, yes he can perform a marriage but definitely NOT on himself.

i think thats a dumb idea. i mean come on, it might seem like a good idea to him now, but when it acually comes down to doing it, he needs to be concentrating on YOU not what he's saying. have a friend or someone else do it.

no, you cannot officiate your own ceremony! get a friend to do it
