If a person in any relationship harms u in a physical way or u fear harm then you need to get out and not be in that relationship. Religion does not play apart in that.

As an atheist myself, I h8 it when people try to convert me. It just doesn't work.

If you like him, why let a little thing like religion stand in the way? So he won't go to church with you, or say grace before eating, so what?

There is probably a good reason for him being an atheist. try getting to the root of that. Maybe he was brought up in a non-religious family and is ignorant of christianity. Maybe a life experience changed his views. Ask him when, then you will get a clearer picture of the why.

If you are going to be so closed minded as to try to convert someone you profess to love, then you may want to rethink what you call love.

You say you were trying to show him the light, but in reality, what you were doing was trying to force him into a mold of your making. Let the guy think for himself. Has he tried to make you give up your religion? Give him the same courtesy.

I'm not saying he should have become physical about it or that it was justified in any way, but if someone allows you to make your own decisions on religion, you should allow them to do the same.

I "live and let live". It is a personal choice whether someone wants to believe in God or not.
I can't imagine my life without this belief, but who am I to say one cannot be happy without God in one's life? I have never tried it, so I can't say.

As long as the person I'm involved with is a good, caring and honest one, I don't care what his beliefs are (if any), as long as he doesn't worship money and material possessions.

He'll drop you like a bad habit, missy. The one thing that non-Christians loathe more than anything in the world is to be preached at.

In fact, that's probably the number one reason that he BECAME atheistic, and you're just proving what he already knows: Christians would rather harass nonbelievers than accept them.

Keep your cult to yourself and leave the rational people alone.

My husband became agnostic after we married. We are still happy together. Respect is needed. People change repeatedly throughout their lives and to stay married you have to accept that. Since you are at the beginning of a relationship, maybe if it bothers you you should forget this guy.

I would have a hard time dating someone who was not an atheist.

Looks only last so long and eventually you have to talk to the person. I couldn't stand being with someone I did not consider intelligent.

Were you shining the light directly in his eyes? That always bothers me.

I pretty much only date atheists anymore - I just can't find logical, rational religious people.

Christianity isn't monothesis - you worship god, jesus, and the holy ghost, right? That's three. If you're Catholic, more like four if you throw in Mary.
