until bill is paid off man that hit my nephew on motorcycle got 3years jail plus12 probation
and must pay hospital bills
so far over 150,000$

I am not sure, it depends on the state you live in. Some states just make pay a big fine, others send you to county jail for a bit, it just depends, you can usually plea bargain for no jail time, just a fine and probation, but if you don't pay the fine or get a probation violation then you go to jail. Talk to an attorney or a public defender just to be sure since I don't know where you live and what the laws are in your state.

My boyfriend just graduated law school and said- you don't go to jail, but you will recieve a fine. Along with the damages you've made of course. AND- if you don't get sued.

They don't go to jail silly, the police just suspends their licenses and tows the car.
