Here are some things that work for me:

1) Getting a massage

2) Finally seeing a movie I've been looking forward to seeing.

3) Taking myself out to a nice dinner. I'll sometimes invite a friend, but I have to be in the mood for socializing.

4) Having good relationship sex.

5) Relaxing alone (or with a special someone) in a warm bath with soft music, dim lights, and candles.

6) Kicking back while my pets romp and play. Just watching them relaxes me, but letting them curl up around me is nice, too.

7) Talking on the phone with a good friend.

8) Writing in my journal.

9) Singing a soothing song during the drive home from work.

10) Reading a good book.

11) Watching a television show I've recorded so I can skip the commercials.

I happen to live within driving distance of a beautiful, popular beach so sometimes I'll head there after work to watch the sunset. Some people find cooking relaxing. A close family member of mine finds working out a great way to burn off pent up energy. For me, planning a vacation is very relaxing whether I go or not.

Hopefully, one of those items works for you. Good luck with your relaxing.

Get a massage/rubdown from a professional or your spouse. Swim. Do bikram yoga. Pop some diazepam....kidding. Get some herbal sleeping pills - they help the body relax. Get a dog. Make out. Go to a driving range or firing range. Break something. Buy a punching bag. Get some stress balls. Hug everyone in the office before you go home (endorphin rush). Watch reruns of the Simpsons or SNL.

try this on for a change of pace.draw your bath water warm not too hot or too cold.put out candles of any color that you may like around the bath tub.take a stick of incense and put it somewhere around the bath tub also.when you are ready to go into the tub light the candles and the incense.step in and meditate .feel the warmth around your body let all other things go out of your mind completely.jobs,traffic,etc.concentrate only what is happening right now.as you are laying in your tub with the candles and the incense around you,i must say that i forgot to say also turn out the lights!but with all the candles and incense around you, look at the scenery that is around you.if you have a sweet little easy listening music that you enjoy to relax to play it during this time of ritual.close your eyes as you listen to the sound of the music of your choice.let the sounds from your music of your desire come with inside of you.feel the warmth of the water around your flesh as you lay listening.smell the incense as sweet as it smells.this will bring you into a trance.you will think that you are in another place at the time.imagine that you are in whatever place that you are in.let it flow with you as you go along with the peace that you feel.by now you should be more relaxed.i hope this technuque helps you endeavor your request for a relaxed state of mind after a hard day's work.may your body, soul, and mind be at eased.
blessed be,

Belt down a quart of gin (just kidding). How about, relax

with friends or do something you enjoy, like taking a drive,

watch TV, visit your ladyfriend, etc.

have a hot bath, watch a nice film, read a book and put on some nice music, distract your attention with something so you can relax and not worry and you will.
