Cold water closes the pores up so your skin looks healthier and tighter. It also works well after washing your hair to do a cold water rinse, because it shines more.

I will cause the pores to become smaller, so if your face was just washed that would seem to be a good thing (remove the dirt, and help block more from getting into the pores soon).

The steam from the shower will have opened up all your pores making it easier for dirt and oil to get into them and cause spots. If you splash your face with cold water it closes them therefore keeping all the bad stuff out and leaving you with zit-free skin.

When you are in the hot shower your pores open up and they get cleaned. Washing your face with cold water helps close them and not allow dirt in.

The hot water or steam from the shower opens your pores. Then wash your face, then rinse with cold water ( it closes your pores).

Hot water or hot steam open your pores. That's the best time to wash your face with any acne cleanser. Afterward, you should ALWAYS wash your face with cold water. The cold water causes your pores to decrease in size. The smaller your pores, the harder it is for dirt/sweat/grime to get stuck in them.

Cold water helps cleanse the skin naturally. But, after cleansing it's good to splash cold water because it seals the pores from further dirt. It freshens the look of the skin and soothes and cools.
