Well, cardiovascular exercise is always a good idea. It'll get your heart pumping and will help you burn weight all around the body. Weight Lifting is also a very effective exercise as it'll help you build lean muscle that will help you burn calories quicker. I would say about 60 minutes of exercise on most days will help you stay in shape. Try walking instead of taking elevators and whenever you are on break. That's what I do whenever I want to lose weight.
As far as food is concerned you don't have to change what you eat, but you should eat a little less of it. Don't skip meals but you can skip one snack a day to lessen the calorie load. Also, add foods such as vegetables, fruits, and low-fat dairy.
And one really good suggestion is to try the 6 grams of fat or less subway sandwiches as part of your reduced calorie diet. I used to eat them when I was 50 about 30 or so pounds overweight and with proper exercise, I found my weight going down about 30 or so pounds in about 11-14 weeks, but it worked effectively.

well, There is no such thing as spot reducing (that means if you do thousands of situps a day, doesn't mean you will lose fat in only that one area). you have to do cardio and aerobic exercises as well as crunches and situps, or just go to the gym and weight train. The more muscle you gain, the more calories you burn a day. Muscles are fat burning machines.
