When it sneezed?
The truth is that God blesses those who seek his will for their lives and who love him.
As far as blessing nations, I have no idea what God does. This may very well be my own ignorance. There is stuff in the Old Testament about God blessing certain lineages and certain tribes. This is all currently out of my league of understanding. I have no idea whether God has blessed the U.S.A. or not. The U.S., while predominantly Christian, is also in many ways predominantly messed up. So I don't even understand what God's blessing on this nation would entail, and what it would mean. In the O.T., God's blessing of tribes and lands normally brought about certain things that were good. And yet I look around in the U.S. and see some things that are good, and some things that are vile. I mean, is part of God's blessing a predominance of anhydrous methamphetamine, for example? I sincerely doubt it.
Perhaps God blessed the U.S. and the U.S. fought back against God's grace?
I am talking in generalities here, as clearly not all in the U.S. are opposed to God's will. But it seems like there is a giant national malaise going around, with people presuming they are blessed while having trouble acknowledging some things that are actually taking place in this country.
Sorry that I don't have the answer here.

The U.S.A. was not discovered in 1492. It did not even EXIST in 1492, and Columbus did not land on anything which would now be considered the United States. Also, he was not the first person to get to North America. The Chinese and Norse beat him here. and the ancestors of modern day American Indians beat them all.
Also, you are getting past tense confused with present. Bless is present tense, and blessed is past tense. When people say, "God bless the U.S.A.!" they do not NECESSARILY mean that he has already done it---although in my opinion, God blesses all things; even the bad ones, because that's the only way they can ever get better.

God and Jesus are not one in the same so get that straight. We in the USA are mostly God fearing people so when you hear God bless the USA it is us asking God to bless us. It is evident that he has because we have it better than most countries. God bless us all!!!!

God blesses the USA every time we ask Him to, by us not waking up to a nuclear bomb going off in our country. By the fact that we wake up every day to a brand new day.. Praise the Lord!! Jesus had knowledge of you long before you were a product of your parents, and long before your parents were born. Infact He had knowledge of you when God created the heavens and the earth. Jesus even saw everthing in the future the very day God created the heavens and the earth. You're trying to use human logic and you are sure to fail because of it. You clearly speak of what you have absolutely no knowledge of. I shall be praying for you.

Jesus being God, knew of the American Continent. After all, he made it
The phrase "God Bless the USA" is a mini prayer asking for blessings on this country. No one is saying "God Blessed the USA".
If you don't like the phrase "God Bless The USA" pack up and leave. No one is forcing you to stay here and if your not from here...stay away.

Christians came to this Continent freedom to worship God without Government dictating how and what to worship(Religious Freedom).
They founded our nation on the Holy Bible and Christian Principals that have served us well for over 200 years. But we are turning our back on the Truth of our heritage and worshiping man instead of God(the creature instead of the Creator)
Romans 1:25 - Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
1 Peter 4:19 - Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

That is more a prayer that God will bless America than anything else. God blessed America when He allowed it to be founded by Christian men/women. God blesses America by not destroying it like He did Sodom and Gomorrah in the Old Testament of The Holy Bible. You can read about it in Genesis 10. He certainly knows we deserve it. If He doesn't destroy us, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.

In someones dreams, thats when. Funny you seldom hear people add "and God bless the whole world too." Do we think we are better or more important than other countries?

Since there is no god, he could not have blessed us. This country is supposed to be a democracy. The religious want to force their beliefs on me using the law. This country should not be a theocracy. We have freedom from religion as well!
