most people think that cats are low maintenance pets that they are not affectionate or to independent or whatever terms they use . these people are completely wrong if you give affection to a cat they will be the most loyal and loving friend you can imagine they are not owned and they will not be trained they train you if you start when they are kittens they will be defensive and can even be aggressively so cats have been known to attack and drive off burglars and assailants I had one who was convinced that my daughter was her baby and would not let strangers near her and watched everyone who came near her very carefully when my ex tried to keep her away from the baby the cat peed in her pillow she would even sleep with my daughter and would only leave the room when necessary I had another who attacked a large dog of the neighbors who barked at me so no this kind of behavior is not unusual at all the cat will decide just what she wants to give back the more you do the more she will remember they are very intelligent and sensitive so be careful of her feelings also try stroking her and rubbing the ears and nose are sometimes well thought of

That is soooo cute. I am jealous. I did have a cat who used to pat my cheek when I would be sitting at my dresser applying make-up. He used to pat my cheek in greeting too when I bend down to pat him. He passed away 10 years ago and I still miss him.

No it's normal, i mean for a cat. I've had cats that would do this to me. I was cat sitting for this one cat who would try to wake me up by patting me on my head when he thought I'd slept enough and he wanted breakfast.

It means your cat is very sweet, smart and affectionate. I've had lots of cats, and a couple of them will pat me back.

My female Siamese pats me in the morning at sunrise when I'm still in bed. She is telling me to get up and either feed her or play with her. I think it's funny and cute and not weird at all.

I do not have a cat, but my dog does that when she wants something. Not a hard swat, just a cute little tap.
