I believe about 1-2% of the general population has Schizophrenia, and paranoid is the most common type. I don't have an exact number but I hope it helped a little bit.

Figures change over time, but the one I've seen recently is about 1.2% of the population over their lifetime. However, this is for all forms of schizophrenia, so I have no idea of the proportion of paranoids in there.
