my hair is about 3 or 4 inches past my shoulders and i want to curl my hair with a curling iron, but i can never get it tolook good. any advice?

go down to Sally's and buy some plastic mesh rollers and give yourself a good old fashioned shampoo and roller set using a strong setting lotion
then either let your hair air dry or sit under a hooded dryer until it totally dry
after taking out the rollers when your is completly dry use your fingers to separate the curls and place them into the style you want and then use some non rigid hairspray to keep them in place
a wet roller set is better than curling irons or heated rollers as your hair is set into the rollers when wet and the curls created in your can last up to 24 hrs or more for me
you could also try a shampoo and set at a hair salon to see how long your hair will stay curled
try not to use curling irons as they can cause heat damage to your hair

Start with the bottom layer workin g your way up because if you don't then after a few layer fo curls are done you loose all the straight hair in them and then you end up looking like a wild beast of some kind...

i saw this from a fashion tv..try curling ur hair(with a hot iron curler) starting from the middle part and dont go towards the end for a fuller curls.. just like what britney spears and jessica simpsons are having..

you can use a heat protecting hair cream or you can use a leave in conditioner it won't make your hair frizzy. But if that's not your issue you can hang pins from the bottom of every curl and they will stretch longer ad they will look prettier.

why don't you just be natural and let it hang the way it does on its own get away from the mirror that might help too just go out and have fun before you get too old to do anything

give yourself a light perm, that way when you curl it they hold better and stay longer..

this might sound weird but if you put egg whites in it it tends to look better and stay in your hair longer.
