I know you mean *career*. Sure, it can't hurt. It's a decent honest career, and the pay isn't too shabby when you consider the fact that you only need to attend school for two years for an associates degree.

Yeeeeeeees, for two years of studies you get a diploma that let you earn between
$28 – $35 per hour (in Florida) isn’t but no? And the other good thing is working with people you can get to know very interesting people, and not all of them have their mouth in bad shape, and once you do a deep cleaning, they will come every 4 month for a regular cleaning and you will feel really proud of how you change a person life

I am an assistant, and I love my job. But if looking into someones nasty dirty mouth, who does not brush properly, full of rotten teeth broken teeth, puss filled teeth, would bother you then dont do it. In hygeine you have to scrap hardened plaque off the teeth and under the gumline. It is pretty gross sometimes and bloody. but usully the majority are pretty decent. Also it is very repetative. All you do all day long is scale (scrape) and polish. Thats it. Thats why i chose assisting. more variety. No two are the same. But downside, is the pay is less. You make doulbe by doing hygeine. All in all I love it, but if you get grossed out easy then it is not for you. Also you are bent over all day long so your back, neck, and shoulders will always hurt.
