Why is it that?

Question

people of different faith than what you belive give you a thumbs down vote, even if your answer is honest and fair??
I am not bashing any religion just curiuos.

thanks for all the honest answers. I will let you know now it will be hard to choose a best answer as I look at and reading them fairly no matter what

While I cannot speak for others, I know I only give a thumbs down when someone says something that is bashing another person's religion because I don't believe that anyone should do that. So my guess would be that others give a thumbs down when someone states something they believe to be wrong. Just like answers, a thumbs down is just an opinion and everyone has one.

I don't unless I think the person is being intolerant or really off base. If they are just giving an honest opinion and I disagree but it is a well reasoned or sincere opinion I will always give a thumbs up. If I think you were well thought out but I cannot morally condone your theory I probably will just not comment at all(thumbs up or down).

it's probably just bias. I try to be fair in my "thumbs-ups" or "thumbs-downs." I very often give "thumbs-ups" to people of all different faiths, if I feel that they give a good answer to the question or bring up an interesting point to consider.
I usually just ignore the answer if I don't like it. I only give it a thumbs-down if it's really insulting or something.

Maybe it was a wrong answer according to the scriptures they know. Someone answered me that a name of God was" I am "But that is not a name of God. And it is a misinterpretation of the bible. How silly is that God is not" Iam" and nor is the person who wrotethe answer God. So if we think it is wrong it is best to let them know. But if one give a thumbs down just to get even or out of ignorance it is not an honest judgment

Well, everyone has a different opinion. Its called free will. So your gonna get those people that don't like what your saying., to use the thumbs down. I guess it doesn't really hurt. (Only a Little)

Sorry you have that problem... that we all have that problem.

I think it's partly because of human nature being uncomfortable with opposing viewpoints. Mostly, though, here at least, it is because of religious intolerance and the participation of immature individuals.

I hope you can find honest answers to your questions among all the riff-raff.

on yahoo answers you can be with me or against me, that`s a general attitude so if you`re not with me then you`re against me and i have to bring you down with any cost. And there`s one more thing, some people tend to follow others like a sheep, if you already have a thumb down then they`ll give you more.... Unfortunately, a lot of people think this way...

You would have to provde evidence to back that up. Exactly how do you know one faith does that to another at all? Is it an assumption you are making?
I have no way of knowing who gives me up or down votes. Do you know something the rest of us don't?

some people actually think they are saving others from believing what they dont think they should believe
