No sunbeds can make it worse as the are a differant type of UV to the sun, ie, get a tan on a bed and you have to go white again to tan naturally.
Ask your doctor for Dovobet, it's the best on the market.

With that money go to the Dead Sea and come back clear guaranteed.

I sympathise totally as a sufferer of chronic psoriasis. The only place I could never get rid of it was my hands until by chance my mum gave me a gift bag of Dead Sea Source products (available from Boots) including a shower gel, lotion, and body scrub. My hands are now totally clear (and I only have a small amount on my knees and elbows) This happened over a few weeks, slowly but surely.
Sometimes a sunbed can make psoriasis worse plus there's the risk of cancer to consider...
If you see your dermatologist they can prescribe UVB treatment free of charge.
Then you could spend your money on a luxury holiday to the Dead Sea spa treatment centre which has a very high success rate.
If the psoriasis is only on your hands I wouldn't recommend a sunbed and consider alternative treatments first.
Having said that a tan can disguise the redness of psoriasis and give you a massive confidence boost.
If you really want to buy one go to a sunbed rental firm and see if they will sell one to you at a discount price. They often upgrade their sunbeds and sell the old ones on cheaply.
You wouldn't want to spend £4000 on a sunbed for it to not work on your psoriasis or even (god forbid) make it worse.
Good luck x

I had a friend who suffered from psoriasis and he used to use extra virgin olive oil and let it soak in, it really improved the look and feel of his skin on his elbows. I don't know if this is isolated to your hands, but see about trying some and maybe wearing the dreaded cotton gloves at night to let the heat help the oil to soak in? A lot cheaper for you and healthier in the long term if it works. Vit D can't be manufactured from the foods we eat and this is our bodies natural moisturiser, the sun's action on the skin gives us Vit D so short term a sunbed may help but other damage may occur such as prematurely aged skin because of the UVB and UVA rays.Good luck

My sympathy, many of my family have this one, if only mildly, but I do know how bad it can get.
Sunbeds should be used only with the advice of your GP.
Try a homeopath, preferably by recommendation. Elisabeth Davidson (Gosforth, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne) I can recommend.
Aromatherapy has helped only temporarily, but you may hit on a talented therapist. Reflexology and acupuncture helps some and are better therapies than aromatherapy because they are holistic treatments.
Medical Herbalism or Chinese Herblaism could help but do check on the qualifications of the person as some herbs are dangerous.
There is a site called Psoriasis Hall of PShame which should help you avoid the worst of the charlatans.

I would say to buy a sunbed would be a very bad idea, as they are very closely linked with skin cancer.

If you have £4000, get yourself referred to a specialist as there are plenty of effective treatments available, and they don't risk your life.

In fact use the £4000 for something else and get a referral on the NHS to a Dermatologist.

Please don't risk your life getting a sunbed when it is completely unnecessary.

Id agree with buying a sunbed but take it easy on it you could end up with worse than psoriasis?

My husband has psoriasis and sunbeds really do help. He goes to a tanning salon about once or twice a week and it has really cleared up. I would not recommend you buy one - they have to be used in moderation - better to go to a tanning salon and once it is cleared up you could probably go once a fornight. Best of luck - I know how bad this condition can be.

There is no remedy for psoriasis but a friend of mine used Graphite Tablets and got good relief. You can buy them at any healthfood store or Boots Chemist on the homeopathic counter. Worth a try...good luck.

My sister had the same condition and it made her life hell and mine to hear people bully her about it. She tried everything and it didn't work untill one day the doctor prescribed a cream 'phenoxcill 5' (i'm not sure that is the correct spelling) pronounced as 'pernoxal' and it cleared up her condition. She walks past a lot of those bullies now with her head held high as she is beautifull with great skin. A few of them have tried to say hi over the years and she just pulls a disgusted face at them like they used to do to her. Please give it a try

Don't waste your money. Go to the doctors and if you don't get any success get a second opinion. You can politely demand to see a skin specialist. I've had to do that finally after 10 years of a skin condition.

Don't give up hope. Go to a Pharmacist and check out as much as you can. Look into your diet.

But go to your Doctor first, don't be shy about telling him/her how you feel.

Good Luck!
