I am helping someone with a Mac and want to know whether I should install Firefox 1.5 or 2.0 on her system? I want it to be stable and reliable. Is Firefox 2 free of bugs and such?

It is stable. However, you should keep in mind that some of your extensions might not work in Firefox 2.0. As of today, there has been only one security flaw detected. The Mozilla team is investigating the flaw and see if it is indeed accurate. The vast majority of negative feedback over Firefox 2.0 is many users feel that there has only been small changes to browser and it does not deserve to be called "a major update."
