Most Christian religions believe in Hell Fire, even though several Bible passages state that God is not the type to torture by fire.

Jehovah`s Witness` are the religion that believe (with good reasoning) that the word most often translated as "Hell" is wrongfully translated and should read Grave. The only place in the Bible that remotely sounds like hellfire is in Revalation, and there it specifically explains that the symbol of the "Lake of Fire" refers to the "second death" or a death with no possible redemption from, or permanant death.

Judaism also believes in "Gehenna" Or "Hinnom" being derived from the Valley of Hinnom, a valley outside Jerusalem where garbage was dumped and fire constantly burned. Criminals who were executed were not buried but thrown into "Hinnom" to be burned. It also represented Permanent death with no redemption, the same as the Lake of Fire in Revalation. Jews do not believe in a Burning Hellfire either.

Hell is the abode which ALLAH (swt) has prepared for those who do not believe in Him (swt), those who rebel against His (swt) laws and disbelieve in His Messengers. It is the punishment for His (swt) enemies, the prison for evil-doers.

It is the ultimate humiliation and loss; there is nothing worse:

"Our Lord! Verily, whom You admit to the Fire, indeed, You have disgraced him, and never will the Dhaalimoon [polytheists and wrongdoers] find any helpers" (3:192)

"Know they not that whoever opposes and shows hostility to ALLAH and His Messenger, certainly for him will be the fire of Hell to abide therein? That is extreme disgrace". (9:63)

"The losers are those who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Verily, that will be a manifest loss!" (39:15)

Hell is strictly a Christian belief; Hell was created by the Catholic Church in its early days to convince the uneducated population of Europe that being Christians and giving everything they had to the Church was the only way to avoid the tortures of Hell.

Judiasm's 'hell' is a grave, all the other 'hell' religions just took judaism and changed it to suit their own superstitions.

The popular Christian Hell was taken from Hades but even Hades wasn't a bad place it was just the underworld or the realm of the dead.

People tend to get hell and the lake of fire confused probably for good reason. Hell is cast into the lake of fire. Rev. 20:14

Christianity believes in a burning place.

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. -Revelation 20:15

spiritualism .. there is no hell
but there are many levels to spirit

strangely enough many times fire is used to symbolise renewal
like ther forest fire burns the old trees to make way for the new shoots
i wonder if it is meant to be taken in such a way ?
