Yes. Sort of. There is a military base that is known to the general public as "Area 51." I can't remember the actual name of the base off the top of my head, but the name according to the government is not Area 51. Therefore, when the government denies existence of Area 51, they're telling the truth. They have no base by that name. There is a base there though.

There is an area in Nevada called Area 51. I have been near it and have friends who have tried to snoop there. If you try to access the land, you will be stopped by military personnel. Not visible from the road is a large military complex with warehouses, etc. You have to climb a hill to get a view of the complex.

Whether or not there is alien evidence at the site is anyone's guess. More likely it is an area for testing experimental military aircraft.

When a team was sent to select a secret location for research and development their map was divided into areas. Area 51 was the location of the Groom Lake Airstrip. They selected this "Area" partly due the air strip, partly due to the seculded area. After the site was constructed, the name "Area 51" stuck. If you were looking for the latest and greatest development in the world look there. The closeness to George AFB California was a positive, due to they test aircraft there.

If you are looking for creachers and crafts from other worlds please look into Star Trek reruns. They have pleanty to show.

Area 51 is still a part of American history and foke lore as well. Parts of the base may be underground, leading the onlooker to all sorts of conclusions.

Any more details and I would need to check security clearances at the door.

The area is indeed real, and you can be shot on sight for trespassing...No questions asked.

I believe that the rumors are true, at least to some degree, due to the level of security, if it wasn't true, there would not be any need to have security that tight...
At the least it is a test area for military prototypes.
I have done some travel out in that area, and you KNOW that you are being watched, even away from the "danger" zones.
If you do some investigation(s) into incidents in the area, I think you will agree that all is not kosher.

Yes, as for aliens and on the "cover up" conspiracy stuff, only those who are actually there can answer that question. But area 51 is indeed real.
