I use Safari, Apple's web browser.
But for the last several months Safari has been giving me nothing but trouble. It crashes all the time. I'll just be doing any normal web browser function, and it will crash. Why is it doing this? How can I fix it?

You should save your Safari bookmarks, since they are unlikely to have any effect on Safari quitting or not. Go to the Users folder and find the user that has your shortname. So this is the pathway:
Users/shortname/Library/Safari. Don't touch Bookmarks.plist but trash all the other stuff in that safari folder. If this makes no improvement, be sure to get the latsest version of Safari for your system. For example, the latest Safari version to use is 1.0.3 if you had Mac OS 10.2.8, so download it if your version is not the latsest.

I don't use Safari because it often freaks out and it lags behind Firefox in features and developments. You know, Firefox is a further development of the old Netscape that Microsoft crushed, causing lawsuits and government investigations. I always liked Netscape as it was much more advanced than Internet Explorer and FireFox still stays ahead of the pack.

Try clicking on the Apple in the upper left corner and go to software update, hopefully there will be a Safari update for you. The way Apple has it though you need to upgrade to 10.4.8 to get the latest Safari. I dont like Safari, download and use Firefox, much better, supports everything. Go to www.mozilla.com for the download. If you dont like the sound of that or the first doesnt work you could go to your library and throw out all the Preference files under Safari. All your favorites(I forget what Apple calls them) will get erased and all settings for Safari but most Apple software issues can be sloved by tossing the p-files.
