He is 14 and his parents are going to a party on Halloween night. He plans to try it while they're away. He invited me and some other people to watch but I am not going. He's been researching this for months and read some books on how to conjure up spirits. How can I talk him out of it?

You can't control other peoples actions but you can control your own. Don't go if you feel it's not right.

Your friend is dabbling in things that he does not understand. Do NOT go. If you are religious you can pray for him. Pray this way: Ask Jesus (or your God if you are not a Christian) to be present and protect him and all that are there. Telling his parents will not help because he will just do what he wants to some other time and place. I expect that he is curious and not really bent on becoming a follower. However, he is doing something very dangerous. Hopefully he is not knowledgeable enough to really do anything and he will give up and forget about this.

I use to work in the Mental Health field and I remember a young client that came to us as a teenager. I think I did his intake. He saw a Psychiatrist. He had been in the hospital. All of these experts in mental health looked at him and could not figure out just what type of psychotic illness that he had. Experts I am telling you, with years of experience had not seen anyone with the type of psychosis that he had. He had done experiments in satanic worship and considered himself to be a follower of Satan. Now sometimes people who are mentally ill think these things, so that is not unusual. But here we had something different. I always wondered if he actually had contacted the demons. I never said anything, but one of his caseworkers told me that they wondered about this.

A person can not be possessed as in the movies. It takes a serious turning from God to become truly possessed. Just like a Christian Saint can become filled with the Holy Spirit, those who follow the dark side can become more like their leader.

Going into the spiritual world is not something a young person, or any person should do that is not well trained and knows what they are doing and why. Native American Shaman do this, but they are well trained and never go there for their own purposes. They go for healing of people who are not close to them. There is much danger there, and to go with curiosity and a lust for power is very, very dangerous.

Overall it is best to let you friend think that what he is doing is just stupid and silly and that the spiritual world does not exist. That way he will just give it up. Alter all the Wizards in Harry Potter’s world don't let the Muggles know they are there. And for good reason.

Do not give him the attention he is craving. Do NOT go to his house at all on the night. He is a fool to try to invoke spirits as no good will come of it. hopefully he will pee his pants and become a laughing stock. or people will bully him at school for being a satanist freek when they get to hear about it. You should tell his parents that he has been researching such topics. show them the books. tell them you are worried because he talks of nothing else and has got a board etc.. not to stop them going to their party but so they are aware of his stupid obsession.

Do NOT go!!! God only know what could happen. I guess just try to reason with him how foolish this is, but it sorta sounds like his mind is made up. Make sure you say, "I told you so!" after the fact & if their house becomes haunted or posessed, be sure to tell his parents what he did as they'll probably have to go hire an exorcist or demonologist to get the house cleansed.

Can you somehow update us as to what happened? I am curious what sort of spirits he's going to get...

You don't need to call him up he is already there if one wants to sin that is their free will but you should give him every reason why it is only going to end in misery for him if he does. Tell him to chant Hare Krishna or if he does it any ways you chant the name of God Very loudly and do not stop until he is done Satin can not come before the name of God

the above is a lovely proram, but because you arte in religion I think you mean the Devil.
Let him try calling up Satan.
But be aware that it is a long distance call,
and you do not want to make it as a collect call.

Satan does not accept collect calls.

I would tell his parents what he is planning. I am a mom and I would want to know what my kids were doing while I am away. Not only that, but it could be a dangerous thing for him to be dabbling in.

Satan can never come if a Christian is around or if God is there. Pray that God will be in the house there or have someone else thats there pray while they are at his house. Ill pray for you too. God always overpowers Satan so just pray about it.

I think he will get a busy signal. Satan is busy in the Middle East and Washington D.C.!

Don't worry nothing will happen except that he will be somewhat let down once Satan fails to appear. I would be worried as to why he wants to do this though.
