The stories were not made up- The Bible is the Word of God- And it is alive and active:
Hebrews 4:12 says:
12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

2 Peter 1:20-21
20Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. 21For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 4:13
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Over 40 authors who experienced Gods truth. Many of whom died because of their testimony and devotion to God. If you had written fiction that was going to get you a death sentence and you could get out of punishment, wouldnt you admit it was fake and not get punished?

The truth of the Bible never changes and neither does the stubborn heart of men.

most of them are variations of more ancient stories from ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt, with modifications intended to enhance the Idea of a single god (in contrast to the earlier versions which were based on pagan, multiple god, religions.
So the editors picked from the collections of ancient myths to create monotheistic versions.

2 Tim 3:16-17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

The word "bible" comes from the Greek word "biblia" which means "books." The Bible doesn't only contain the word of God but it is the word of God. About 40 different authors wrote the Bible during a period of time of about 1500 years. The Bible covers a time period of about 4000 years. The Bible consists of two parts, the Old and the New Testament, altogether 66 books.

The Old Testament consists of 39 books.
· The historical books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1st, 2:nd Samuel, 1st, 2:nd Kings, 1st, 2:nd Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther.
· The poetic books: Job, Psalms. Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs.
· The prophetic books: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi.

The New Testament consists of 27 books.
· The historical books: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts.
· The Epistles: Romans, 1st, 2:nd Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1st, 2:nd Thessalonians, 1st, 2:nd Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1st, 2:nd Peter, 1st, 2:nd, 3:rd John, Jude.
· The prophetic book: Revelation.

The purpose of the Bible is to give a complete picture and to explain God's plan of salvation, which can be comprehended by all men in any time, age and culture, so that men may receive knowledge about the truth and be saved.

Men who were inspired by God wrote the Bible.

2 Tim 3:16 " All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

Also read: Jer 1:9,12, 2 Sam 23:2, 2 Pet 1:21

The different authors were men of different background, education, personality and interest. Among them we notice: David the king, Amos the shepherd, Daniel the prince and ruler in Babylon, Peter the fisherman etc.
We have to state that the Bible clearly tells us that what God has said is true.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
God speaks the truth and He cannot lie.
Also read: John 17:17, Ps 19:7-9, Ps 119:151, 160, Num 23:19

As a baby you received food in order to grow up. Now you eat in order to remain alive. The Word of God is food to your inner man. Make it your habit to eat from the New Testament and read through all of it two times before you start out with the Old Testament. That would be a good idea. Read the Bible as a personal message to you. For instance: Phil 4:6-7 "Be careful for nothing." Receive it as a personal word to you. Another example: Ps 23:1 "The Lord is my shepherd", receive that promise "my shepherd" -that is a personal relation -"I shall not want." Regardless of the surrounding circumstances -"I shall not want."

Also read: John 14:1, 16-17, Rom 8:31-32, Deut 28:1-14, Deut 30:11-20

Memorize scriptures, for instance:

Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."

Underline in your Bible, take notes and get to know your Bible. Learn to love and appreciate the Word of God. It is life, health, discipline, training and guidance for your life.

2 Tim 3:16-17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

Also read: 1 Pet 1:23-25, Prov 16:18, 20, Ps 1:1-3
