Your wife can petition for you to be given Legal Permanent Residence. You did not say which country you currently live in or where you got married, so it is hard to give you any more specific advice. You should start by visiting uscis.gov.

When you are ready to start the petition, I would recommend engaging an attorney who specializes in immigration matters. It will make things go much more smoothly.

One thing you will need is evidence that you have a genuine marriage. Do you have wedding photographs? that is a good start.

You need to apply for an Employment Authorization Document and I believe you qualify since you're married to an American citizen. You need to fill an Application for Employment Authorization also knowns as I-765. You can get an application at www.uscis.gov. I suggest you check with a lawyer since if you fill something wrong on the application, the processing of the documents takes longer than it should.

I don't know that your wife being an American citizen will be of much benefit in your getting a Green Card...Maybe in the past but not much any more...
