Halloween.
The Encyclopedia Americana says: “Elements of the customs connected with Halloween can be traced to a Druid [ancient Celtic priesthood] ceremony in pre-Christian times. The Celts had festivals for two major gods—a sun god and a god of the dead . . . , whose festival was held on November 1, the beginning of the Celtic New Year. The festival of the dead was gradually incorporated into Christian ritual.”
Maybe you feel that the origins of holidays have little to do with how they are celebrated today. Do origins really matter? Yes! To illustrate: Suppose you saw a piece of candy lying in the gutter. Would you pick up that candy and eat it? Of course not! That candy is unclean. Like that candy, holidays may seem sweet, but they have been picked up from unclean places. To take a stand for true worship, we need to have a viewpoint like that of the prophet Isaiah, who told true worshipers: “Touch nothing unclean.”—Isaiah 52:11.
Would wearing a Halloween costume be "touching something unclean"?

If all Christians decided to not participate in Halloween then who would be there to influence the lost?
As for refraining from a holiday that has pagan roots, if we were to do that than we would have to give up celebrating Christmas and Easter. Both of these holidays were established by early christians to combat pagan holidays. Over time the Christian influence absorbed the pagan rituals. Could we as Christians do the same with Halloween by influencing others by participating in a Christian way? I think we have a better chance then by staying at home where it's "safe".
Sure you could reference verse after verse from the Bible to avoid all evil that could influence faith but Jesus hung out with the sinners so that they would come to know Him. If you're looking for a verse to find comfort in how about:
Colossians 2:16-17 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religous festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath Day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
If we could lose our faith, our salvation or our relationship with Christ because we participated in Halloween, what does that say about what He did for us.
You don't lose your soul because you dress up for Halloween, you lose your soul because you don't believe who Christ is and what he did for you.

I don't do Halloween. And I don't consider my answer to this question authoritative, just a best educated guess.
All Hallow's Eve is a pagan holiday where it is believed that the ghosts of the dead return to earth. This--obviously--is not Christian.
However, it seems possible that one can participate in what has become a national day of fun without subscribing to the mythological stuff. While there are still those among us who believe the myths of what happens on Halloween, they are few. The holiday in the U.S. isn't celebrated as the day that the ghosts of the dead return to earth, but is celebrated as a day when people dress up in costumes and give children candy.
Dressing up in costumes and giving children candy is a harmless act in and of itself. It promotoes fun, community bonding, and generosity.
If you are participating in Halloween in order to bond with neighbors and give stuff to kids, it doesn't seem like a problem to me.
That is, it depends on where your heart is. If your heart is in the grave with the alleged ghosts of the dead, then you are in spiritual danger. If your heart is with your friends, neighbors, and your and their children, and the whole enterprise is to provide a little fall break where people can laugh, talk, and enjoy each other's company, it doesn't seem like any problem whatsoever.
I hope this helps you think about your decision.

Im a believer and have no problem dressing any way you want. If you think you may offend other believers, then dress appropriately. Halloween is a societal and a community holiday, not an evil one.

"You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons." (1 Corinthians 10:21)
Isn't Halloween a feast of the demons? Throughout history, it has been represented as nothing less! If you are sincere for God's truth and Way, then why do you desire the ways of this world?
No, it is not OK with God. My suggestion, ignore the holiday altogether.

re: "scared that God may not reply as speedily as he did final time when you consider that I suppose like I best flip to God while I want him" Dont prevent doing whatever well, with ease when you consider that you recognize theres whatever greater. Do well whatsoever you'll. Turn to God in prayer at any risk you'll. And give up with the senseless, inconsiderate, verbatim crap. Guess what, God is aware of your prayers via middle... perhaps he'd like to listen to from YOU someday. Tell him overtly approximately your disorders, talk to him like a truly man or woman who's rather listening. Pour out your middle and frustration and gratitude and the whole thing. Stop conserving again when you consider that you suppose responsible. That is a tactic of devil, now not God. If you desire to reconnect, do it. Keep attempting, dont get pissed off should you dont get a beam of sunshine from heaven after a talk or 2. And in case you have performed this, simply be quiet and nonetheless for a little bit even as. Give him the risk to reply via idea after. When you've gotten a talk with anyone you dont simply yackyackyack after which stroll away. You allow them to reply. Give him that possibility too. I can promise you, existence gets infinitely tougher for you past grades and boys in the future. Your courting with God will make extra change on your existence in the course of the ones occasions than you'll think. Its whatever valued at combating for.

No. It is all founded in occult practices... No one of The True Christian Faith should participate in any "halloween" activities.... That said... a concerned congrigation may offer an alternative party...minus the halloween decorations and costumes... inorder to provide alternative fun for kids on that night.... as long as all referance to halloween is eliminated.

We usually pass out gospel tracts with candy when kids come by- But we dont celebrate it- It doesn't glorify God. But I am not one to say you should not participate....that is between you and God. I just know that I would not want to participate in something that goes completely against God.....
How do you feel about it?
