Could be hot flashes. I've seen women in drenching sweats following these. Is she having night sweats? If so, I might think about TB or lymphoma.

She needs to have her bowels and heart re-checked and if there's no problem, then she's just going through menopause, which can be quite terrible with the hot flashes and the chills after wards. With that you can't really do much unless you go to the drug store and talk to the pharmacist, there is a homeopathic natural product that she can take to ease the symptons However she needs to tell the pharmacist what kind of medication she is on for her other illnesses, the pharmacist then can see that there will be no interaction with her meds.
However she should get herself checked out once more.

The answers you have recieved are for the most part just awful. Why in the world do people think that just because someone is old that they should be sick? That is plain stupid and cruel. I don't know how old your mother is but she deserves to have good health and to have attention paid to her symptoms just like anyone else
I do not know what is wrong with your mother but I do know that it is NOT the fact that she is older and I know that it is NOT menopause. Please do not listen to what these fools have told you.
Keep taking your mother to the doctor, I know it becomes tiresome but someone will have the answer.
For your mothers sake please do not give up.
Love and Blessings to you.

Sounds like menopause to me. Red face, hot flashes, fatigue, irritability.....look up menopause. Is she around 50? Could be the culprit.

My grandmother is diabetic and gets very hot and "clammy" when her sugar is low. I assume with the tests she has been through they have checked for diabetes, but it might be a thought to consider if they have not tested for that, yet.
