Wouldn't it be nice to have the original Hebrew or Greek text? Well, sometimes you have to explain a doctrine in simpler terms so non-Christians or apostate Christians (back in those times) will also understand it. As soon as they understand the concept of spirits, for example, it is easier to talk of God as the Great Spirit - for the sake of building a bridge based on mutually comprehensible vocabulary. Think of Native American legends. There are, of course, some better answers on here already. See pinkadot1 and princezelph's answer for more input.

i will agree 100% that god is not a physical form. thats what the bible says i mean who are we? and who is joseph smith to change what the bible says right? i have asked many many mormon questions here to get more and mroe information, sometimes i have learned something new, but this one i have failed to bring up. i do find it funny tho how you found a contradiction and it is argueed only by the mormon teachings, nothing else in the bible... funny. good question

So far idiots have answered, God is indeed a spiritual being, and after the resurrection we will be spiritual being but we will still be physical. Right now we are natural being, because we are still subject to the flesh. After the Resurrection we will no longer be at the whims of the flesh and thus we will be a spiritual being also.

Here is the Joseph Smith translation of that particular verse:
JST For unto such hath God promised his Spirit. And they who worship him, must worship in spirit and in truth.
We believe he has a spirit and a body, united forever eternally.
D&C 93:33
For man is spirit. The elements are eternal, and spirit and
element, inseparably connected, receive a fulness of joy;
Also D&C 130:22
The Father has a bbody of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.
That is why we believe what we do.

It appears they have mistranslated the verse. There is no excuse for that.
