my mother has moves every couple of months, her latest move was across from us ( me and my family & my brother lives next door to me). She moved in with a roommate & he left in middle of night due to supporting her for months,(they werent involved) she has no job, and no place to go. she is acting as if its our duty to support her now, she is doing nothing. we have told her flat out. we even looked in the local paper for jobs but she still didnt do anything. As of monday she will be locked out. We have done our best, and our out of ideas. Giving her money and a place to stay is not an option since she burned that bridge with the landlord.

You can't do a thing but FORCE her to stand up on her own two feet by NOT supporting her. She has never learned that she, alone, is responsible for her welfare. She will wail and moan and call you every name in the book, but - in the end - she NEEDS to learn this.

It's a harsh lesson to learn so late in life, though. I would bet all I own that her parents didn't make her do a thing for herself when she was growing up.

I dont know what to say hun, I'm sorry. She needs to grow up and realize that she's the parent and you have to realize that it's not your job to take care of her, she's the mom, you're the daughter... unless you're already 18, you could support yourself but if you're not, try talking sense into and give her an ultimatum... you've done the best... it's up to her now...

unfortunately you can't. sometimes you've just gotta let people hit their rock bottom, whatever that is. only then will they be willing to make some changes for themselves by not continuing in the same mistakes. in the meantime, pray. a lot.

my advise is to talk to her and tell her how you feel about that..tell her she needs to get off her lazy butt and do something...no offense to your mom of course
