That's a baloney. Tyson couldn't possibly beat the Greatest of all time. He's never beaten a great fighter before only Holmes when Holmes was over the hill and over 40 years old.

i am not sure what Ali said but Tyson would not have beaten him because he was not afraid and could take a good punch. Most importantly...he was extremely fast. He would have worn Tyson down and knocked him out around the eighth or ninth round. Saw both of them in their prime.

hey melinda, understand that ali would often say such things as a joke. a man as prideful and talented as he would never admit that someone could beat him,,,seriously. i believe ali himself would make the only 2 exceptions sugar ray robinson and jack johnson, his two idols/models. i remember seeing the arsenio hall show: ali, sugar ray leonard, and mike tyson were on the show and hall asked ali what would happen if he faced mike. ali leaned back on the couch and closed his eyes to indicate that he would be knocked out by mike, and everyone laughed...it was a joke and everyone knew it. later, after the tyson-douglas fight, ali said something to the effect that if douglas could knock him out how do you think i would've done? so, don't believe for a second that ali seriously thought tyson could defeat him. tyson's style and psychological makeup was tailor made for ali and he would've had a field day w/him, popping off and getting inside his head. he would've gotten mike so riled up and mad, he'd have been off his game..and i absolutely love tyson! but i gotta give it up to the greatest. he truly was the greatest of all times!

In his autobiography, Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times. He stated that Tyson fought in a distinct rhythm and would be easy to time. Ali also stated that it would be easy to get into Mike's head. Ali said he would have beaten Tyson.

no, you are confused. ali said just the opposite in his autobiography. mike tyson is the most overratted fighter in the history of boxing. name one good fighter he ever beat. can't do it can you? tyson made a career out of knocking out journeymen. and he even got knocked out by one of those(buster douglas). the only really good fighter tyson ever fought was evander holyfield, and holyfield dominated both fights. so please, don't even mention that overrated losers name in the same breath as the great mohamed ali.
hey minnikers, he wasn't in his prime when buster douglas knocked his sorry *ss out? he was less than 30 years old when holyfield beat his *ss. 20 some years old is not in his prime? get real. i ask again. name one good fighter he beat? i'm waiting

Ali said it last week. Do you believe Ali is in his right mind?
For real, Ali said no such thing. You are more mis-informed than George Bush. Baby girl, please.
