Answer
Take some medication for it!
It is very important that you don't take any medication before this without getting the OK from the staff. Although they haven't asked you, I would advise that you contact the department and ask to speak to one of the nurses. They will either advise you or put you in touch with one of the doctors.

It could be that what you planned to take will be OK but the staff MUST know what you are taking and might not be able to proceed with the investigation if you've taken the medication and then just turn up.

Yours sincerely

Maybe - you could try to face your fear... What about when you are at home you could get out a needle and thread it. Maybe sew something... I know you're talking about needles used for shots but - sewing needles are not that much different. Do you know someone who is insuline dependant diabetic? Maybe you could talk to them about it and they could help you. My sister in law has it and she taught my brother how to give her a shot if she passes out from her blood sugar. It really helped him to become familiar with the needles and shot and overcome his own fears.... I personally have no fear of needles - but I've been around needles alot with sewing and also I had to have many shots as a kid and especailly from the dentist when I had root canals and cavity fillings.

I used to be horribly afraid of spiders and getting more familiar with them made the fear subside alot. I still really don't like them but I can remain in control now when I see one.

Getting familiar and knowing everything you can know about the object of your phobia is the best way to overcome your fears.
