Its a bit more complicated then what people have been taught to say. I miss you very much in Spainsh as in Spain, one would say " Te hecho de menos a mucho " and in Mexican or any other south Amaerican country is te extrano mucho.

For 'I miss you very much' you could say Lo Extrano Mucho or Te extrano mucho. There really isn't a word in Spanish that translates exactly for the English word miss unless you are referring to a young/single lady, then it would be Senorita.

miss (verb) = extrañar (infinitive form)
miss (noun) = señorita (unmarried young lady)
If you want to say I miss you very much, you would say "Te extraño mucho" or "Te hecho mucho de menos"(if you're talking to a close relative/friend). To address a person more formally you would say: "Lo/La extraño mucho." or you could also say "Le hecho mucho de menos."
"Lo" refers to a male, while "La" refers to a female. "Le" refers to both (in a respectful manner).
Hope this helps ;-)

I miss you very much= Te extraño mucho.
Miss also means "señorita" (unmarried lady or just a young lady) in Spanish.
