**For serious catholics only: Who is your favourite saint and why? **
Saint Maurice,without a doubt is my choice.
Whether the story of Saint Maurice is fact or fiction it matters not to me. The idea that someone would prefer and suffer martyrdom rather than Idolize a man over God is exceptional. Maurice and his men suffered death for worshiping God only.

It is so hard. If I really had to narrow it down, I would choose the Holy Family. St. Joseph along with the Blessed Virgin Mary had been given the most wonderful task - to rear the Hidden God (Jesus - God made Man). To know that God trusted inyou/believed in you that much to become your child is almost incomprehensible.

I have two. St. Anthony because I am forgetful and he always is faithful in helping me find things I've misplaced and he always gets my documents through the mail when I request his intersession.
And secondly St. Gerard because he has always answered our novenas and been a great help in getting our two adopted sons home from Russia.

St. Therese', The Little Flower. I really admire her for her simplicity in faith. I can identify with her "little way". She really knew Jesus and the Father and she was confidant in her Heavenly childhood. She has helped me battle a borderline case of scrupulosity with her wisdom.

St Peter. I chose him for my Confirmation name. He was the first Pope and he walked on water, although , not very well. Jesus had to save him yet again.

saint valentine because he was imprisoned for his beliefs and healed his blind daughter--and everybody seems to forget about that when V-day rolls around
