i have no oil and have to make this cake and no car to get to the store do i have a chance of my cake working

i have used butter many times and i just add a little more of it ...about a tbsp and be sure you have it melted.....

I have to say this again...baking is not like cooking. it is like chemistry. got a neighbor? go borrow your oil. If not....hopefully, you do have applesauce and I always substitute oil for that. Your cake will be less fattening, much moister and VERY tasty!!

yes you do. butter is basically oil when melted anyway. just make sure you use enough. you may want to add some other liquid like water just to be safe
