Yes, I was hurt by my first love whom I intended to marry. I adored him. I caught him with another woman and really took a spiral downhill. Drank heavily, extremely depressed. It lasted a year. I was young at the time and in hindsight, wish someone had encouraged me to seek out counseling. One needs to build self esteem and see that, it isnt another person's presence that determines one's worth and happiness. Time also heals. Either way, there IS someone special out there and dont give up hope and if you feel youre not making headway in getting over this person, FIND someone that can help you. Life is way too short.
God bless.

At first it seemed almost impossible to get over the hurt and pain when I left my ex fiance. I felt so used because I had put more of myself and love into the relationship then she did. But time, keeping my mind on other things and occupying myself with life helped. God was a big help too and I actually prayed for my ex to help her move on. Not in person but just between God and I. Also friends and family time help. Good luck girl and God bless.

When my wife at the time left with our two kids it hurt real bad. I was furious at her. But once I calmed down about three weeks later she called and we talked. She explained that she wanted to be on her own and couldn't do that being with me. I still feel the pain over a decade later. But at least we still talk. I know there's no chance of getting back together but better friends then enemies.

The key, dear, is TIME. Everyone's been thru that and only time can heal, time can take away the badly hurt heart. Nothing that we do can make it go away. With time...it will.. Believe me. For the mean time, just focus on yourself, treat yourself a new bag, go to saloon, dye your hair, pamper yourself. Show the world you are okay, you're just fine without the jerk..
