Jesus said, I am the way, and the life, no one comes to the father except through me.
What do you think this verse means. NOw I know Christians take it literally, that only through Jesus. Does that mean they gotta walkthrough him. Last time I checked it was not possible to walk through another being. SO it must implie Jesuses spirit right?
So would that mean his word? And cant his word the main principles of his word, loving another, faith, healilng, everything he taught, has it not been the principles of every religion who believe in god, or gods, or a higher power. Karma, do unto others, prayer, meditaions. Isnt it the same. I get weary of people who call my friends evil, because of their abilities, isnt it the same teachings of Jesus. Did Jesus not say Ye people of so little faith you have the power to do what I do and more. So would scripture imply that through Jesuses spirit,(his teachings) you will know god?
What is your opinion just wanted to know someone elses?

I believe Jesus existed and was a prophet of 'God'. Buddha was a prophet too, as was Mohamed and many others. So having said that, just what any of these prophets really did say is unclear as they lived many years ago and their words were inscribed by people 100s of years after the prophet lived. Then you have the translation problems and so forth.

But yes, the main tenets of these prophets are the same and this vein of similarity runs through all of mankind, it is just expressed in slightly different ways by different groups.

I was noticing that the story of Pandora from the Greeks and the story of Eve are very similar. All beliefs have a story of a great deluge. The only differences all of the world's beliefs have is merely a matter of interpretation and a lot of details. Unfortunately a lot of the world's people focus on the details and not the main message.

What did Jesus say about love?
We are to love one another (John 13:34, 35) and demonstrate that love.

Catholics consume the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus in Holy Communion. Wherever Jesus is we are there also. At every Mass we are present at the Heavenly banquet. This is how we go to the Father through him. It is much more than just his word. For other denominations it is a symbol but, not for Catholics,

In that verse its reffring to prayer. When jesus said that he was saying that when we pray to god the only way he will hear our prayers is if we pray through his son. Now it doesnt mean we walk through him, but it means that when we pray instead of just saying "amen" you should say somthing like "in your son christ jesus name, Amen" or "In all this we pray thourgh your son, Amen"

The reason we need to do this is because of jesus ransom sacrafice. After adam and eve sinned we needed a perfect soul so that we might be able to live forever in a paradise earth. But we also were givin the provision to talk to god in prayer, on our own when we face problems or just need to talk.

Praying through jesus is basicly the only requirment, but we also need to refer to gods name, which is Jehovah, (Psalms 83 :18 18 That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the Most High over all the earth.) And we also need to have faith and be a good person, following the requirments in the bible at (1 corinthians 6:9-11 9 What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom. 11 And yet that is what some of YOU were. But YOU have been washed clean, but YOU have been sanctified, but YOU have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.)

So by following gods commandments and praying through Jesus we can pray to god.

there is much misunderstanding on this scripture. I know jesus would not lie,I know him to be litterally one with God,all this talk of adoption into being a son of God,being a son of God are his attempt to communicate with a people who were very ignorant of such things at that time,he even had difficulty explaining his parables to his closest deciples and he just fed the masses fish.. I have learned the truth. "God dwells within you as you" this is what jesus taught, the same guru deciple relatioship and baptism with spirit as hindu vedanta. read romans 8-29 it discribes this. I received baptism with spirit from swami muktananda paramahamsa and now understand this. Jesus as near as i can tell was talking to HIS deciples and for a diciple your guru is the only way but what he really was doing was speaking from his Level of christ consciousness, referring to the fact you must pass through the same level of spirit See www.stephen-knapp.com/articles_to_read.htm for an authoratative, college level, documentary on this subject. Jesus is most certainly A way but there are many, many now living who can do as he did and even greater as he said to his deciples

Jesus Christ is the human form of God, the father, that was sent for all of us to understand God's teachings and even God's own love for all of us, his children. Jesus Christ's spirit is very important because his rising from the dead is our basis for the christian holiday called Easter Sunday. The season of Lent is to prepare God's children for that special day of when Jesus Christ goes up to his father in heaven to build up the church.

Jesus also said judge not that ye be not judged.Jesus taught what are basic principles to nearly every religion. My interpretation of " I am the way..." is that it is in direct relation to Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart , for they will see God".The Bible was not meant to be taken literally, for the most part.If you live a decent life and treat others with respect, you're good.

By "walk through me" the implication is that you give up all of your human desires and emotions and all of that and try to become like Christ. Like if you got into heroin and it completley took over your entire life, Bible-speak would hypothetically say that you "walk through heroin". No one would ever say that, of course, but the implication is that you give up everything that is you - bodily desires, emotions, thoughts, etc. - and try to make them like Christ. By being like Christ, you act the way his contemporaries said he acted and believe what he believed.

Anyway, I do agree that the basic principles are the same, but the exclusivity of Christ's message does make it different than some other religions. That's where Christians will tell you you're wrong. You may be more righteous and Christ-like than them, but if you don't believe in the exclusivity of salvation, you're supposedly going to hell.
