and moving away from their herd mentality? Why are christians these days constantly trying to identify themselves with buddhism when they resorted to namecalling earlier? Are they scared now of losing blind followers and power when people are actually starting to think on their own with buddhism?

Michael before you bag everyone including buddhists perhaps you should study buddhiism! Just coz you are against the christian doesn't mean all religion's are bad. You are contradicting your own statement and bagging buddism without proof!

No. Evolution will be when we get rid of religion altogether. Any 'belief', without evidence or basis, is detrimental to society.
