sounds like a urinary tract infection.

Not sure about the peeing thing, I would suggest checking with the vet.
Grooming though, I have a male toy poodle that I brush on average twice a day.. if you want your poodle to have long hair then its best to groom them at least once a day. I use a steel comb, he loves his brushing/combing but if I am busy and miss a day I need to use a steel brush first before I can get a comb thru. Your best bet is to switch to at least once a day to keep the tangles away.

I did find a site though dedicated to poodle grooming :)

Edit: while grooming Kooper tonight I thought of this thread... the comb I use is a Groomax Stainless steel comb. See link 2.

Easy answer first.... Use a leave in cream rinse on the dog when you bath it. You can also get a professional spray that helps remove tangles. But the cream rinse is the easiest.

Now, a rule of thumb is: If the dog has symptoms that you would find strange in your self, take the dog to see the vet!
It sounds like a urinary tract infection or a bladder infection.
Good Luck and Enjoy your dog.

It sounds as if your poodle may have a urinary tract infection, or bladder stones. You need to have her to a vet for diagnostics. Females should not be bred until they are 18 months to 2 years old so they are mature and by this age any congenital defects should have surfaced. If his hair is matted, you need to either brush every day, or have him clipped.

I would take her to the vet. About a year or two is a good time to breed. And try some cream rinse that you can get at the pet store for the matted hair.

I suggest a trip to the vet, and a good book on toy poodles.
