Well, I came over for a surprise visit and she was watching some Hallmark movie. I told her that she can watch that another time when I'm not here so I took the remote control and turned it to college football. She was kind of sad so I told her to come sit on my lap when she did I started tickling her and she started laughing and then I told her she should make some popcorn and get some drinks. When she came back I could sense that she was a little sad. I told her to come sit on my lap and I asked her what was wrong and she said nothing. Do you think she was sad that I took the remote or is this just a hormonal thing? I'm hoping the latter because I really think when the man is in the room he should have control of the remote. That is how it was in my house growing up with dad.

Oh dear, I hope you are young, you've got a lot of growing to do. First, let me ask you why the man should control the remote? That your dad did it is NOT a reason. So you think you can come into HER home and dictate what she will watch on her TV, but even if you lived together that would not give you dictatorial powers. So after you have treated her like a non-human, switching off what she wants to watch and turning it to what you want to watch, you are ready to dismiss her feelings as a "hormonal thing". Please ask yourself, how would you feel if you were treated as if you had no rights, that your wishes could be overruled at any moment, that an important person in your life treats you with total disrespect. Feeling a little sad by now? I hope so, but your feelings don't count, it's probably just a guy hormonal thing.

Ahhhh, Lucky m'boy, I just discovered Yahoo Questions and Answers and am learning how to do it. I answered your current question. I'm sorry I wasted my time. I've reviewed your other questions and you are one of those lovely people who enjoy wasting other people's time by asking ridiculous questions (variations on a theme) and probably getting drunk and laughing because people were stupid enough to spend time answering you. Never again Lucky, let's just chalk you up to another (minor, minor) mistake in my life. Actually, you're even too trivial for that.

you were wrong to change the channel. IT sounds like it was her house and you are technically a guest there. Have a little more respect. What plays on the TV should be mutually agreed apon by all viewers. Changing to football just because you are there makes you a pig. There is no reason why you couldn't have seen the reast of the movie that she was watching when you arrived. You could have asked her to turn the TV off or ask to watch the game but changing the channel is rude. Yeah my dad kept control of the remote too but he didn't control what was playing.

YES!!! You were dead wrong and put your feelings desires and needs before hers. That's what probably hurt her the most over missing the rest of her show and your lack of respect for her and her house. She should have dumped you a long time ago and made you wear the food and the drinks. Grow up and be a man and learn how to treat women right or you'll be a misserable single for life. Word does get around and believe me every girl she knows found out about it. I hope she dumps your sorry ***. Seriously. I'd never treat my woman like that. I'd have joined her for the rest of the movie, cuddled, and maybe earned some great sex afterwards. You need to grow up you jerk.

That is kinda rude to just take the remote, you should have asked her. If she said no, then you should say you are going home to watch the game. It sounds like you dont live there and dont pay her bills, like your father did in the household. It still would be rude to just take the remote though. A relationship is give and take 50/50. It is not always about what you want.

HORMONAL thing? Come on... guys need to stop blaming our sadness or moods on HORMONES...

The MAN should not automatically get the remote. You sound very controlling and disrespectful. Don't just assume roles like that. Or you'll have no one else to control ... just your remote.

It WAS wrong for you to do that.

You SURPRISED her while she was in the middle of a movie and you just changed the channel and even told her to get some food.

You should apologize to that poor girl...

Of course it was wrong of you!

You can't just go to your girlfriends house and change the channel if she was in the middle of a movie. You should have made the popcorn for her, and got the drinks and the two of you should've watched the movie together.

Do you care for this girl at all? Or is football more important to you?

you selfish pig. Do you care for her? What makes you think you can go over to her house and change the channel in the middle of her movie "For a suprize visit" I bet she was JUST THRILLED to see you come and bombard her like that. You should enjoy the time you have with her, not your stupid game, which you would probably pay more attention too. Your poor girlfriend said nothing, its something, she probably thinks your selfish, personally that would be one thing that would piss me off when you think you have control and to shut her up to be affectionate. Typical guy. You know this answer Stupid, do you REALLY need an answer?

Fist of all: What was she doing out of the kitchen?

Second: Never allow the woman to have the T.V. remote control...or anything with buttons (other than the washer, dryer, and stove/oven).
