This is the impression a lot of Christ's followers are giving me. Am I correct in thinking that if I displease one of these 'lambs of God' I will be smited by them personally?

Good question Since God is Creator and Author of all life. What He says goes. If you use the argument of parents teaching their children and therefore their children follow whatever their taught is simply not true. As adults all people around the world (especially in todays day in age) have access to all other religious beliefs. I truly believe that every human being will have an encounter with the Living God at least a couple times in their lives. It is then up to them whether they want to except it or reject it.

Lots of religions like these think that their religion is the true one and so all the other people not in their little club are going to hell.
It's crazy. The thing I find most puzzling is the branches of christianity. Catholic, Chirstian, Jehova, whatever. They all believe in the same things and yet they think that all the other people suck. Baptists hate Catholics, etc. etc. No one is gonna smite you. And hell isn't a place but more of a state where you're seperated from god. And if you're jewish, or hindu, or wiccan or anything, then depending on our beliefs, you'll end up where you're supposed to end up. Like if you're hindu, then you'll be reincarnated or if you're wiccan you'll go to summerlan etc. etc.etc. Don't worry.

true! actions speak louder than words. However, it's not a matter of condemnation. Burden of proof lies upon the accuser. Ya gotta know the difference when someone is trying to explain gods love and forgiveness, or trying to use the bible for their own personal gain to kill and crash planes into skyscrapers or by trying to force their own ideology onto you. God is a >choice< Simply saying god loves you and has a better promise for you than this world has to offer isn't condemnation. It's the spirit w/in reaching out saying "it's real, and I'm here".

I'm not a Christian but am schooled in Christian doctrine and the correct answer to your question (according to Protestant Christians) is this:

The only person who condemns you to hell is yourself -- for not accepting Christ as your savior. God wants us all to go to heaven but when we don't accept him he has no choice but to separate himself from us for eternity, which is what hell essentially is (even though God is supposedly omnipresent). So Christians cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, condemn you to hell. Some would say you condemn yourself to hell and others would say God does, but never would anyone (who knew anything about the Bible) say others do. The reason you get that impression is because most Christians are obnoxious. : P

You are completely wrong, if any 'Christian' tells you that they can smite you in the name of God, then they are 'pretend' Christians. We can draw The Lords attention to you, but we know that He is a forgiving and loving God. You must remember that many strive to follow Christ, but many fail

That is where you are wrong, my friend. Christians do not have the power to condemn others to Hell. No offense, but I don't know where you got that theory. I'm a Christian myself, but I am absolutely baffled at the thought of having the power to do that. Plus, it is not God's will that any perish. It is man's. God Bless You.

No. We are clearly told that there is one judge, Jesus, not any of us. Unfortunately, some christians are either misguided or just stupid, and for some odd reason think that God changed His mind (which He doesn't do), and decided that they would be better judges than Christ. I'm guessing most of these so-called "christians", don't know how to read or comprehend the bible. Its sad, but theres bad apples in every bushel.

Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord JC.

God did not say let us make children.
God did say: let us make man(adult).

"Children" get tossed to<->fro by law<->law.
Exhortation: "be no more children" (Eph 4:14)

Children differ nothing from servants(slaves).
Exhortation: thou art no more servant, but son.

Being "children of God" is of God on "high".
Being perfect man Christ is of "higher" God.

God on high is in the midst of childish law law.
Higher God is about being maturely grace us.

BTW, don't ppl recovering from getting high,
to the point of harming themselves & others,
afterward speak of a "higher" power as God.

Why is high-minded listed with un-holy: 2Tim 3?
Exhortation: mind not high things, be not highminded.

Converted Peter, to scattered brain brethren:
Grow the *** up: "grow in grace", not law law.

The Grace(God) of our Lord JC with you all. Amen.

No, if we are really "followers of Christ" we shouldn't judge you anyway or make any judgment on where you will spend eternity. We should be telling you how to get to Heaven, it's such a simple decision that will change your life.

No, I am LDS, but it is pretty understood around the board. We are not to judge unless we judge in rightousness. At the end, Christ will be the judge of the world, not any man.
